Hey all.. any designers out there? I am working on our website here at work.....am battling with HTML.
What a bitch. USing Dreamweaver...anyone out there good with this?
Not me, but the topic of website design utilizing dreamweaver and flash have come up a lot in my firm. I think I may have to add to my current expertise and figure out these programs. We can't hire any outside consultants to update our website, so if I learn this stuff means a lot more moola for me. Also having that extra knowledge in your resume helps too.
Sorry for offering no assistance whatsoever to your current dilemma. Hope your birthday went well.
Cool! I am teaching myself all of this, so I appreciate the help. IS there any way to make links on a page different colors without having to create a style sheet and go about it that way?
And when I use a style sheet, how come I have to define both sections of a page w/regard to the links. It seems that I should be able to just define the sections I want and the rest should be covered by the page settings....

grrr...
The only way, (that we've been shown) to change the hyperlink color is through a stylesheet. I'll ask my instructor tonight and let you know if there's any way around this.
Not sure what you're asking for the second question.
I think this is the answer you're looking for...
So you don't have to go through the hassle of defining multiple sections of your page, define the style the style of your link with a "body" tag, that should "blanket" the whole thing.

ack, its not working (the body tag. No worries there)..
Hey another question for you- I am having some table issues...its not displaying right, and I have NO idea why.
Any common shortfalls? Its a table embedded in another table, and half of it displays right, and the other half displays all funny on the side of the page... very strange... I can send you the file if that helps?
Style sheets are the way to go, and they're pretty easy to work with. However, Dreamweaver, being a wysiwyg app, sometimes makes it more complicated than it needs to be.
Post up your page or send me your html along with what specific problems you're facing and I'll be happy to help you sort it out.
