yea clubs in philly always shut down around 2am, vs them being up and bumping in NYC till 5 or 6 am
Philly has always been an early to bed city, I think even WC Fields made fun of it, before my time, HaHa. I was however surprised in 2004, I stayed at the Hyatt at Penns Landing, and there was some serious rocking going on around there until rather late, late for Philly anyway.

where did we get Philadelphia from???? I know Pennsylvania = Penn's wood....
The Quakers named Philadelphia, I think the meaning is like "loving people", hence, the City of Brotherly Love. Hey, I used to live really close to Pennsbury Manor, Billy Penn's home.

Philadelphia is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "loving people." Known as the City of Brotherly Love, it was founded by Quakers with high ideals, where it was a tradition among them, the Friends, to name their eldest daughter in each family after the city.

I never got any "brotherly love" in Philly. It's more like "move it asshole" or "Hey, Go F Yourself". I hate Philly, except for the Phillies and some of the food.
