It's crazy how much pro athetes make.... even shitty ones.

I think Hockey is the lowest of the 4 major sports in terms of salary. They had a really low minimum salary up until 2004, of $180K per year.. but I think it jumped up to like $400K for '06.

Even still.... 180K per year is a ton of money, but then again.. these guys are traveling almost nonstop for 7 or 8 months of the year, playing on major holidays and weekends and also risking injury due to the size and speed of the players they are playing against.

I guess making that much money is somewhat important to ensuring that the NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL are able to get the best players that there are out there in the U.S(and even sometimes foreign countries), otherwise people might seek more lucrative jobs.

yea,

it is definetely a lot of work to be pro athlete.

plus the entertainment factor it provides to a majority of the ppl here and abroad.

so considering this, their salaries are pretty resonable considering the risks/work/public appearances and all of that stuff

Forget it GZ. I'm with you 100% but ungrateful Philly fans will still find a way to bash McNabb and still want Ricky. It makes no sense to anyone outside of Philly but that's just the way it is. I would love to have McNabb in Dallas as our QB.
