Default Random help with GS300 question

Well, this whole process has made me really appreicate this forum that's for sure. After spending some time on the Club Lexus forum, I realized how cool and helpful everyone is on here. A bunch of pampas ass holes over there from the conversations I've had.

Anyways, here's the deal. A good friend of mine just bought a GS300. They have one of those very annoying seat belt chimes when the belts are not buckled. With out lectures, because it's not me, does anyone know where I might be able to point him to try to figure out how to turn this off. I would imagine there's gotta be a way. I figured I could come to my trusties here even with a topic about a different car to get to the bottom of anything.

check to see if it has a fuse, and remove it....

Also found some steps to undo the chime for a 05 avalon, could give it a try

1. Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO trip.

2. Press and hold the TRIP meter reset knob for ten seconds or more within six seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position. Fastening the driver's seat belt while holding the knob cancels the buzzer reminder. (You may have to hit the reset meter knob to cycle through b-ON to b-OFF)

3. When this occurs, the LCD displays "b-OFF". The buzzer reminder can be switched between ON and OFF each time the TRIP meter knob is pressed. The LCD displays "b-ON" or "b-OFF" according to the buzzer reminder ON/OFF status. The display changes to the ODO or trip meter if the knob is not pressed in 10 seconds.

4) Performing steps 1) and 2) again when the buzzer reminder is off exits cancel mode.

It's called Clublexus and then like this forum, has subdivision for each Lexus model. But most of the topics are for IS models, not GS. Makes sense seeing the owners are probably a little younger and more into the sport part of the car.

Wow, good info#2...I bet there is a main fuse that you could pull to turn the chime off...

the GS is pretty sporty in my opinion... very underpowered though.
