Default Beauty and the Geek

anyone here watch the show? it's hella good. they filmed it right down the block from my office too. there's this old big ass house sitting on a corner lot..freaking big ass lot. they're always filming there. ashton is the producer of the show, he's a genius. this is the 2nd season, i've watched the 1st season's. u go into watching the first episodes thinking ur just gonna see geeks and beauties do what they do best, talk about shopping and astrophysics. but as the episodes progress, u see barriers coming down and friendships being built. u hear the participants talking about how everyone is different but at the core, the same. and then u see the guys and girls falling in love for each other. yes partyman...it can happen for u too. hahaha..j/k

seriously, ashton and the show are pure genius.
but i think last shows geeks were smarter, they were mostly members of mensa.

I've seen a couple of episodes. Maaan, what major nerds. The one dude who could figure out the Rubik's cube while holding it with his hands behind his back impressed the hell out of me!

You work in K-Town? I used to live 2 blocks away from where they film it. They film it in Arlington Heights, or what used to be Country Club park. L.A. is funny that way because that area is not the worst ghetto I've seen but it's definitely not one of the safest places either and that mansion is one block away from Arlington and Olympic. Craaazy. I still often drive by that house.

Yeah that house looks great. I remember driving by one day and I saw it all lit up like a Xmas tree except it wasn't Xmas. Then I saw it on the commercials for Beauty and the Geek and I was like, "I can't believe they're filming that there!" That's when I used to live in one of the artsy fartsy studio apartments with the hard wood floors and the brick walls off of Olympic and Gramercy Place. My old Honda got broke into 3 times each time right in front of the building. That small area of Country Club park is something you would overlook but it's really posh.

Hey, where' the best Korean BBQ restaurant in K-Town? I wouldn't be surprised if you and I have crossed paths at El Taurino off of Olympic and Hoover, or that one rotisserie chicken place: pollo a la Brasa off of Western and 8th.
