Very impressive JL. Actually, before I even clicked on this thread I was already planning to go have sushi for lunch.

My absolute favorite is when Ahi tuna is fresh and it's available. That is soooo good. Other favorites:
Unagi. I thought I'd never eat eel in my life, but it's toasted and tasted absolutely delicious.
Toro. Fatty tuna.
Maguro. Tuna
Sake. Can't go wrong with Salmon.
Ebi. The shrimp is my least favorite, but I'll definitely eat it.

I don't like Mackerel. In fact I hate it. That stuff really tastes fishy. And I'm not a big fan of fish eggs either.

PHILLY ROLLL????

Ewwwww. Cream cheese has no business being part of Sushi. If the cream cheese were excluded, I'd eat it. When combined, I think it's gross. My girl loves those rolls however. I like cream cheese on bagels and within cheesecakes. Not much else.

Thai chicken fried rice, mmm. Think I'll have the leftovers for breakfast.

$2K for a knife, must have been a custom job; I've not seen a true production knife for more than $600.

Right now spicy tuna rolls are my absolute favorite. I like the kind where the hot sauce is all mixed in with the tuna and not just around it.
Some of my other favs
caterpillar roll (unagi, green onion? and avocado, unagi sauce)
rainbow roll (california roll with assorment of fish on top)
a few others that I can't think of right now

as for sushi, my favorite is the mackerel LOL. It is a bit fishier than most cuts but I love it.

Anyone know of a roll that has creamcheese along with other stuff then battered and fried like tempera? I had it once in vegas and it was phenomenal but haven't seen it since or know what it is.

Never tried the caterpillar roll, but it sounds good. Rainbow rolls are also some of my favorites and the spicy tuna roll is also very good.

Knock yourself out with that Makerel, I can't stand that stuff.

And no, I've never heard of that last item you mentioned.

It's the whole roll that is tempura fried. Really good cause the cream cheese softens up a bit (drool) and its got a crunch outer shell. OMG I need to find out what that was.

Some of the tempura rolls are great. I think it was a calamari tempura roll that was my fav.

Yeah gamma check out a caterpillar roll in the near future. They are usually a bit more than your average roll but are served with eight peices and the avacado is on top. Mmmm.

hahaha I actually convinced my mom there were caterpillars in it one time.
