I think Smoke and Hex are just trying to further the male mystique and manly man theory to keep you gals on your toes. Don't brand all guys as pigs, not all guys have a one track mind. Immature, adolescent opportunists who can't see life beyond the end of their pecker maybe, but not responsible, emotionally mature men. They don't have to, they are secure enough to get what they want long-term without having to jump at every possible score just because it feels good short-term. What they are saying is they would stick their dinkle thru the glory hole on a gay bar wall just 'cause it feels good. NOT! I think the majority of men are a tad more discriminating with a fair larger notion of common sense and self respect. Pretty simple really, just tell your prospective guy friends like it is. If they can't handle that physically, better to move along emotionally.

if you're speaking about 45+ year old, then yes, i agree with you. otherwise, there's just no way in hell that "the majority" of men will start talking to a woman, with being JUST friends in mind.

I'm saying that not all men will tell a girl to go pound rock salt or hit the road if she simply says she wants to be friends. Regardless of age, although I agree that the older and wiser men get, the more likely they are to have great non-physical friendships with the opposite sex.
You guys sound like you (or every single guy) would poke anything and everything on two legs that was semi-warm to the touch without giving it a second thought. I don't think that was/is the norm. Even in my most wild and crazy testosterone and alcohol induced stupors, I had a sense of self-control as did the majority of the guys I went thru school with. The total man-whore minority aside, in many respects I think guys today are even more discriminating this generation than the past because of AIDS.

I won't. I know that they just have not had a girl that they wanted to be friends with. That's what I was trying to tell Smoke. If I lived there and knew him I think he would be able to be just friends with me. And my friend doesn't have a one track mind either. he has never treated me as anything but a friend.

not my intentions. i am simply trying to show that if physical attraction is there, then so would the thought of having some kind of relationship. i dont mean just sexually, perhaps a serious relationship between a couple. if physical attraction is there, then so will there be the thought of getting together. i actually think it goes the same for women. i wasn't trying to make it sound like it's all about sex.
