in the summer, i won't lie, it's hot. from about june till early october, expect 90-100 degrees daily. austin's not humid though. it's pretty dry. right now, it's about 65 daily and 45-50 at night. that beats the crap out of philly. also, you don't have to change your tires in the winter, and rain is scarce, so your ride will look nice and clean a lot more often than it would in philly.

austin would love to have you. there's nothin like a cute girl driving a bad ass car.
On a coast-to-coast road trip years ago, while traversing the panhandle I got stuck in a real dumper of a TX town - McLean (I think it was). First TX girl I ever met owned a 500hp Ford Fairlane with tobacco spit down the driver door! Ended up moving in with her for a few weeks and getting shot at by her old hyped up BF. You're right, there's nothin' like it!

Ever try to find a replacement rear axle and bearing for a '56 Chevy Nomad? Took a week to find and two friggen weeks to get them delivered by Greyhound Bus! UPS - huh, what's that?! I learned a lot about Texas and the some of it's people in that time. I think the ONLY reason I'm alive is I was willing to drive into OK and buy beer (in the aforementioned Fairlane!). Girls were ok, naive but pretty good looking actually, the guys were just druggie a-holes with gun racks in their P.O.S. pickups. Prolly just didn't like the CA boy doing their womans good.
[edit] ggirl - moral of the story... if you head to TX, stick to the big cities!
duh. i've lived in tx since i was 5, and if i stay, it will either be in austin, houston, or dallas. i don't think i'd live in a small, rural, redneck town anywhere. besides, pa is pretty close to west virginia. there are plenty of rednecks there, and it's borderline north.

Is there much color in Texas? Meaning besides white people sorry. That didn't make much sense.

yep. there are a lot of hispanics for obvious reasons. austin and houston are the most diverse cities in my opinion. san antonio is pretty cool too. for people our age, austin seems to be the best fit. it's a very diverse city, and it's supposedly the live music capitol of the world. i kinda believe it with festivals like sxsw and acl.

I guess I was stereotyping it from what I see on tv. I always see like big white hicks and blond big boobed girls. So that is always what I have thought of Texas.
