Default 6MT.net Site Performance
Ok, first off... the site is great and it's free. A winning combo, so this isn't meant to rip into anyone trying to provide a good forum. But...

Does anyone have information on upgrades or improvements to the infrastructure/HW that the site runs on? Or just a better hosting package with an ISP? Things have gotten slow of late with lots of hangs and failed posts, etc. Is it that we need more advertising revenue to keep up with growth?

Maybe we should require a secret handshake for membership that would limit users... like "pull my finger"... :P

I don't even think it's from all the people using this site necessarily. I look during the day and there aren't even that many people online when it's slowest.

Perhaps we share a server with some other client that is tremendously popular and hogs all the bandwidth and processing power.

Honestly, this site is fine.

However, I noticed in the AM(when the postwhores come out), that's when it gets pretty bad.

When it starts to bottleneck like that, I just catch up to all the bullshit later on in the evening.

Kinda silly for one to get their panties all bunched up if they're having problems to post on a FREE site.

Paying to post is a different story all together.

this site has been EXTREMELY bad over the past 2 weeks, in this timeframe, we've cut down our PWing considerably.

the site is usually slow around 10am-2pm est...and theres alot less peeps on than later on.....i pretty sure we aint the ones slowing the site down...Partyman's theory seems pretty legit...
