I can almost gurantee you can get a real nice suit right now at Nordstrums for $400 and it will blow away and Men's warehouse suit and will never go out of style. Go black, with a little longer jacket. You can pull that look off with a good shirt with no tie or own the shit out of it with a nice tie. Go at least three buttons on the jacket too.

Hugo Boss, hmmm nice, there was Hugo Boss going out of business sale here in Glendale just this past week, unfortunately, I already have 4 suits and I need another suit like a need another watch.

Stick with the single breasted suit. Only mobsters and a few others with bad taste where double-breasted suits. Fashionable during the 50's, it's not in fashion now, unless you have the art deco motif in your house to comply.

If you are short just make sure you have 3 buttons maximum. If you are really tall, the more buttons you can have.

I personally prefer Donna Karan, she makes very strong suits for men with just the right cut lines. In fact, I boughty my Donna Karan from Men's Wherehouse for about $450.

Hugo Boss is where it's at.

I don't know what your build is, but if you're short and stocky, go with a double breasted cut, if you're tall and slender, I'd recommend single breasted with a high lapel.
word...bite the bullet and buy a quality suit. it will last you for years. and i agree the dizz about hugo boss.
Yes, but the style won't!
just go with the classic two or three button single breasted suit...preferably a dark color like navy, black or charcoal...it will last...just dont get anything that has more than three buttons.

I am a little over 6' tall so I'm definitely considering a 3-button suit. I wear a 45 regular jacket. My other suits are 44 long and fit okay, but a 45 is more comfortable. I don't think that I want would get much use out of a black suit; however, I will be renewing my vows in Australia in March and I will probably wear whatever suit I buy now for it...so black may not be bad.

Any of you ever shop at Boyds? They have a 50% off sale now with Hugo Boss ~$500.

If I were you, I'd buy two: one in a dark color like black or navy blue, and one in a more casual color like tan or olive green.

I already have an olive green suit, which I wore for an interview this past week. I was considering wearing it again for a follow up interview with a different shirt and tie, but I should just buy another suit. I have another suit, which is a navy with pinstripes, but some damn moths made small holes in the pants. I couldn't believe it.

I may actually look at a black, single-breasted, 3-button suit. Do the Hugo Boss suits wrinkle easily?

I don't know if Hugo Boss suits wrinkle more than others, I couldn't imagine that they would.

If you buy a second suit, then buy a tan color, great summer suit or a suit that you can wear to someone else's wedding and still stand out.

You will wear the hell out of a black suit. Do a three button, single breasted black suite and you can't go wrong. I don't know what's around you, but we have a lot of outlet mall that have Off 5th Saks Ave and stores like that in them. You can get Armani and Zegna for about $500 and they're normally $1500-$2000 suits.

On another note, I sure am glad we're all very confident in our sexuality because a bunch of guys at home on a Friday night talking about suits is pretty wacked.

Could be worse........Be like these cops I used to know, they'd all sit around on Friday nights drinking and cleaning their guns, pretty exciting! (actually scary IMO)

You guys are either too corporate or too metro for me. :P

I've only worn one suit and that was to my sister's wedding. I'll stick with the Old Navy cargo shorts/pants or khakis and a t-shirt/polo/button down look, much more comfortable.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm watching a John Wayne Western while I'm online...and I already watched a Jimmy Stewart western tonight.
