vince is gonna go nuts tonight. our players are pissed. all of this talk about usc is bs. ut has gotten no respect, and i'm guessing they're going to make sure they get it tonight. that's not really usc's fault. blame espn. i can't wait. it's so hard to work right now. 50" sony lcd waiting for me at home with cute tx girls on the couch. last night Penn St/FL St game was a good one....hopefully tonights game be pretty close as well...

I still can't believe that FSU missed the extra point in the first quarter...he had mad the last 121 PAT's...what a night to miss...
I have no idea how kickers can miss a PAT, a LB made one for the Eagles when our kicker went down.
it looked like the Penn State kicker was about to bust out in tears after missing the second field goal....
I think the pressure got to the Freshman Penn St kicker...as for the FSU kicker...I don't understand that, that is your only job and you fuck it up...what a shame...

Iron, Texas' supposed great defense is a mirage. For the defenses the statistics vary greatly on the competition. It is easy for a secondary to be ranked high against the pass if most of their opponents are run oriented. Likewise, if they play a series of pass-happy teams, their run defense numbers will be inflated.
Looking at Texas, the caveat for their high defensive ranking is the poor offensive output of their opponents. At the high end, the Longhorns have played only one top-30 offense (Texas Tech at No. 4) this season. More remarkably, half of their games were played against opponents who ranked in the bottom third of scoring offense.
On the other hand, the Trojans have played four offenses in the top-10 and 8 that were in the top-35. That equates to two-thirds of their opposition ranked in the top-third of the country in offense.
This doesn't mean that the Trojan defense is better than their Texas counterparts, but it should at least put those rankings in a slightly different light.

My point is that these rankings based on yardage and points given up don't mean much when your opponents offenses are horrible. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT saying that Texas doesn't have a good defense. I am saying that this notion that UT has a great defense and SC has a horrible defense is a joke.
BTW, half of OU's team went to the NFL last year. That doesn't mean jack shit.
It should be a great game. This will be by no doubt USC's toughest challenge yet on the D side. Probably same goes for the offensive side as well. I think USC has already proven they can be beaten with their last second win in South Bend and very close scare with Fresno St. But you definitely have to give them the edge as the two-time defending national champions and a lot of good players on the squad. However no college team has done a three-peat, so just based on history alone I have to give my edge to my Horns!!!
