based on the 997 carrera comes porsches newest sports car for 2006. the porsche gemballa gtr 650 avalanche is powered by a turbocharged flat 6 motor producing 650hp and 605 ft-lbs of torque at 4800 rpm. it tops out at 208 mph and hits 124 mph in 11.2 seconds. the engine consists of titanium piston rods, three intercoolers and a gemballa custom designed turbo. like most porsches its a two-seater (good for picking up that chick at your local boba tea station and leaving her fat friend behind jk). 8 piston brake calipers and a huge 380mm perforated disc brakes make sure u can stop on that dime to pick it up off the asphalt. cuz at $300,000.00+ msrp you better make sure she's worth the ride....pun intended.

Come on... that's pathetic. Couldn't they come up with some rare, exoticly bestial and awe-inspiriing wild animal to name it after?
They need to take the "Avalanche" insignia off the car all together. It looks like crap and is an insult to the Porsche name.
Murcielago, for example.. is spanish for a Bat.
Viper is obviously refering to a snake.
Mustang, is a thoroughbread horse.
A Diablo usually refers to some form of a devil or mystic evil being.
An avalanche is just a collapse of a bunch of rocks or ice. I don't like the idea of naming a car after something that is just really a big collapse of inanimate objects.

I think the design of the car is so old.
Yeah, yeah, I know the numbers and specs are impressive. But seriously, can porsche opt for another design? The car's been looking like an upside down bathtub for how long now?

The wheel has been shaped the same for the past 2000 years as well.
Porsche has always used that basic shape for the bulk of their high end cars... so they have the aerodynamics and engineering down to a science. I'm sure they must stick with it becuase it's a good design.
The only real high End porsche that comes immediately to mind which doesn't fit that mold is the new Porsche Carrera GT, which is based on the shape of their Le Mans GT race car.

Apples and oranges Arty.
The wheel is functional.
That body design is just fucked up looking.. Kinda like my sig.
But as Gamma would say, "Your opinion is duly noted."
