I would like to make it to NYC this year, but for some reason I don't see this happening...
This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
Were you listening to me, Neo? Or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?
Good bye, Mr Anderson.
The babe in the red dress is hot Morpheus! Were can I get me one of them?
not sure yet i'll get back to this thread after this weekend
Are you expecting some great drug-induced epiphany to occur this weekend and enlighten you as to your desired path for the future?

maybe a bit of drinking
actually, we were suppose to have some family flying in for christmas and new years. but due to VISA complications, it seems that they're not going to be able to come
so either they come and theres a great christmas, or we spend christmas alone.
Can we stop the Matrix lines you nerds?! :P Anyways, I'm planning to make sweet lovin' to someone this winter. I'm not going to DC to see my sister or cousin this year, but instead stay here in good ole' Mississippi. When I find a place to fill up my Co2 tanks for my paintball marker (gun) I'm gonna go and target practice on some unsuspecting meat eating squirrels and some rebel flag toting locals. Other than that probably do nothing special. Spent too much money on gifts this year and I need to save up some money. The Air Force is getting rid of officers by next summer because they have too much officers in the company grade area and are looking to get rid of some.
The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
_______
I know contemplating the deeper meanings of the Matrix is far more annoying then the usual postwhoring that goes on here :P
There's actually a trilogy. the original (first one) is the best, the others have more effects but get confusing.
I'm not usually one for mindless action flicks, but this one was interesting as it takes place in a surreal setting with an interesting premise and has deeper philisophical undertones.

Here's a critique:
In the year 1999, "The Matrix" and "Fight Club" were undoubtedly the best films of the year. The Matrix was truly revolutionary in special effects, specifically in CGI (Computer-Generated-Imaging) technology. The still cameras that were used to capture multiple angles of a single shot, in bullet-time technology, was a creative new approach. The film is initially suspenseful with people not knowing quite what was happening until Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) reveals that Neo's (Keanu Reeves) reality was actually a fabricated world that is an elaborate simulation created by machines. Neo and the majority of the world's inhabitants have been stuck in simply a mental simulation prison.
The magnitude of philosophy in sync with special effects make "The Matrix" a one-of-a-kind movie masterpiece. College classes show this movie in their philosophy class, and at the same time can prove to be one of the best special effects movies ever. Supplementally, "The Matrix" also provides endless action and a pretty solid storyline that influences the philosophical ideas in the movie.
There are so many great things in this movie, it is just crazy.
The color palette along with the time and effort put into stunts also accelerates this movie on all filming levels. "The Matrix" leaves the viewer a sense of pride in the world he/she can live in to just know that people are capable of creating at this level. Unfortunately, monetary and timing motives offset the potential quality of the sequels. "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions" were just a waste of time and weren't carefully thought out, as was the first Matrix.

Agreed the sequels were not as good as the original but the highway chase scene in 2 or 3 was the best I've ever seen. They couldn't find a highway in the US that suited the feel they were going after so they built a 2 mile stretch for the chase scene to be filmed. Pretty cool stuff.
