I miss a few days (okay, weeks) and it looks like the place has gone to hell. What's with all the whoring going on?

Remember how you guys said you'd keep it to one thread? Every other thread has nonsense in it now.

I don't want to be a party pooper but let's rein it in, fellas, otherwise, I start locking. Dont get me wrong...I like a nice conversation just as much as the next guy, and I can understand how topics will get off topic sometimes, but come on dudes (and you know who you are), you're posting for the sake of posting.

We are merely going with the flow...I personally have not changed the topics, but if they get misguided or redirected I go with the new conversation...sorry, if it upsets you though...

Seriously... I've been getting annoyed as hell at this forum lately, to the point where I question why I even bother coming on the off-topic section anymore because it's not worth the time it takes to weed through all the BS postwhoring crap to try to find the occasional tidbits of intelligible content.

The same 20 or so threads have been on the top of the forum for the past few weeks and all are are full at the tail end of them with useless 2 or 3 word banter between the same few people.

Maybe we need a daily post limit of like 10 posts per day, per person or something(Not sure if PHPBB supports that feature yet).

Like I said... I understand that topics can very easily get "transformed" into other ones but a vast majority of the posts lately are really not making this great for public consumption. Know what I mean? Feel free to whore it up in PMs or the PWA thread, but let's try to keep from turning every topic into a discussion about post counts.

I will do my part and only whore it up in our particular threads...

The main reason the same threads stay up so long is because we keep them there. If you don't remember what it's like when no one posts, think back to several weeks ago when Smoke and Hexx disappeared. I fell asleep everyday waiting for people to speak up...then they came back and there was life again on the boards...

Kinda like what J said, I just go with the flow of what everyone is talking about. Most threads hardly stick to the OG topic as much as everyone tries. I can't speak for anyone else but I am not posting for the sake of just posting. I am at work and get bored and conversing with whoever is posting helps to kill time. Especially when it is boring. I don't know if you were around when me and smoke didn't post for like 2-3 weeks. It was so dead. Hardly anyone posted. It's not an intentional thing kloh but it seems like we are damned if we do and damned if we don't.

I think if it were to come down to a poll of who has a problem with it vs. people who don't mind b/c it keeps the boards active, then you will see that it bothers less people than you think...sorry, my 2cents...

Maybe we need to incorporate a 6MT live-chat room.

Many other boards have these, and shouldn't be too hard to use or setup.

Most of them are run through a java applet, and if a users job doesn't block access to this site, then they probably won't have any restrictions set up to prevent the chat features that lovely java can present to us.

Most of these programs only let you see what is posted from when you sign on...not what happened earlier...

kloh and I were discussing this earlier because I told him I was about to start locking threads and linking to a new PWA thread so you guys could keep all your conversations together. And any further topics that start to go this way, we can just post the link to that thread.

I have no idea what the best solution is but it seems to be getting out of control again and it's difficult to read through all the PWA conversations to see if there is something that should be read.

Not blaming any specific people for anything necessarily. It's just that there needs to be some kind of control over this board to make it a fun place for everyone and not just a few (don't take this literally, hopefully you know what I mean). If anyone has any ideas of what to do, please let us know.
