128 mph and it is not considered reckless driving. Sweeeeeet. I can feel the rush now.
Of course I can't think of any other reason to move to Nebraska, maybe I'll just get a summer house (very cheap). Oh yeah, they have right to cary laws in Nebraska. Make that 3 good reasons to move there.
You don't have CCP in Cali? Shit thats almost as bad as the ban on .50 cals.
In L.A. and L.A. County, the only way you are going to get a CCW (carry concealed weapons) permit is if you are a judge, a wealthy wealthy businessman, an ex-cop, or a celebrity. Funny thing about that, you can live in Culver City (home of Sony Studios), which is within L.A. and right next to West L.A. and they have their own court, mayor, police etc. There, they issues ccw's to celebrities all the time.
Elsewhere, particularly in rural northern Cali, they are easier to get for L.A. standards.
The ban on the .50 Cal was just stupid. The problem with anti-gun people is that they know nothing about guns. No terrorist would ever use such a firearm. Too boxy, too heavy, too visible, too precise, and far too expensive. That said, I also think it's highly impractical for most shooters. I mean really, what the hell do you need a .50 Cal for? Just like the S&W .500 magnum. The city was going to try to ban that too. What gangster would use that? Way to heavy, way too expensive, nearly impossible to conceal, and good luck with the double-tap.
ohhh shit. I just realized I hijacked my own thread.
Here pretty much if you pass a background check, can show competency with the gun of choice and pay the fee you got it. Its even legal to carry in a bar now so long as you're not drinking.

NO WAYYYYY
My best friend in Phoenix told me that it's the same way. He carries his Glock 22 (.40 S&W) everywhere with himl.
With regards to Nebraska, I don't know that I'd carry a firearm. Crime rates are too low for me to be concerned. It's a safe state, so why be paranoid? But still, you can carry a firearm into a bar? That's kinda cool. Remimds me of the old west.
One thing that annoys me though is that the CCW only applies to guns even though the law doesn't specifically mention guns. I was looking at getting mine a couple years back so I could legally carry an otherwise illegal knife. I ended up returning the knife shortly after I got it though because it was awkward to carry in any of my pockets.
In AR any knife with a blade over 3 1/2" is automatically considered a weapon no matter your intent if you carry it off your property. IIRC its chapter 74 of the criminal code.
I carried it for about 3 weeks and took it back and got a Benchmade Axis 940. Now the biggest knife I carry is a CRKT M16-SF Slim Profile, though when my custom knife is finished it will be the longest @ around 4 1/2" on the blade. Once I get it (hopefully in the next couple months) I'll post some pics of it.
Its gonna be around $250, the guy doing it is just starting out on his own after having apprenticed with A.G. Russell and Bob Dozier. Blade is going to be S30V, black G10 for the handles and a skull crusher at the end of the handle.
