Just wondering what some of ya are getting for your loved ones...
I was thinking about getting my Moms some nice kitchen knives for x-mas. Don't really know which are good ones, was thinking about the Wusthof classics. Anyone know anything bout knives. I do remember someone wanting to start an e-biz selling kitchen utensils, any update on that?
Prob getting my Pops some dress shirts.
Take my bro to the massage parlor, or getting him a pair of Sevens.
I would like a set of Maya STM's, if anyone wanted to be extra generous this season.
I'm getting my girl a navigation system. I don't know yet if it will be a portable or permanently set in her car, but she needs one since she has no clue which way west, east, north or south is. We've been to some places more than once and still she couldn't find her way there without me.
I gotta buy a friend (due to a wager) tickets to a Laker vs. Heat game at Staples. That's gonna cost me a pretty penny.
I have no idea what to get my parents (the ones who celebrate xmas). Sometimes, I just give them cash. It sounds cold, but only one gift in all of the gifts that I have purchased them have they actually used and liked. That was a small digital am/fm/tv band radio receiver that runners use and you could wear on the arm. My dad loves that thing while he does his lawn work.
Got my wife and her dad a ticket to the Billy Joel concert in Philly in March. It's kind of a family tradition that they go together and it gives her an excuse to fly up to see her family. The seats are second row in the second section on the floor so they should have a pretty good view.
I'm thinking of getting her an iPod too. Not sure which one to get her though. I'm thinking the 30 gig video would be good. Any suggestions?

I want a new Louis Vuitton purse for Christmas, and I want floor seats to a sixers game. J/K I am buying people typical Christmas gifts. Don't see the whole family though so I can't really help you on your pops. I am buying my mom a new Coach purse though. SO far that's all I know.
For now, my highest recommendation for knives is Global without a doubt. http://www.sointuusa.com/about.php?s...ontentID=about
Sointu has authorized retailer listings. Most better cutlery stores will carry them too.
A large proportion of the chefs on the food channel use them.
I have used most of the German knives, Henkels, Wusthof, and the like. They are good, but do not hold an edge as well. If you don't mind sharpening all the time, that's OK, but the Globals are just awesome and really well balanced too.
My dad never goes anywere, but I'm thinking of getting him a knife like mine, except witha smaller blade.
I have an Emerson Commander BTS with the serrated edge combo that I always carry. It has a 3-3/4" blade on it. A great gift for a guy by the way. $200 retail.
But there is a mini-version that has about a 2" blade on it. Same swivel chingadera that makes the blade come out when you pull the knife out of the pocket. That goes for about $150. Make sure though that this guy doesn't go into airports or courthouses though or else he'll lose it.
