Car looks good, I wonder if they invested enough engineering in the drive train to keep the axle hooked up when you pop the clutch on that thing

In the M5 that engine has an economy mode that keeps the power at 400 hp until the performance button is pushed. Gas mileage is decent from what I hear. Hell the G doesn't exactly get great gas mileage.

I know you didn't just compare a 3 series w/ v10 to an Srt4. That's an argument that won't even be entertained.

On a side note, I saw the new M5 on the streets yesterday for the first time. God I want that car (drool)

those economy buttons dont work, man i have a friend that owns a 5 series, he has the same feature.. maybe it varies you really expect a v10 to get good gas mileage???

i didnt compare the 2 cars, i was merely comparing the fact that they're both fast.

if i had a gun pointed to my head, and i had to buy a bimmer, i'd go for the M5.

Currently the only BMW out there that makes me stop everytime I see it, is the 645ci.

She's sweeeeet. I've heard one tricked out and she purrrrrrrs.

All the other BMWs are kinda ugly.

The 645 is sweet looking too but I love the new 5 series. 7 series does not appeal to me and the 3 series is somewhat bland but decent looking. The SMG tranny in the M5 has somethng like 15 different selectable driving modes.

I don't think it would get "good" gas mileage but decent would be expected. The economy drops the Hp 100 by changing the air fuel ratio. I do think it would be good for a small improvement. None of that really matters though. You don't buy a high performance V10 for economical purposes. I have not charted my gas mileage in the G but I suspect it's around 15 mpg the way I drive.

The only BMW I like is the convertible M3 in red. That's pretty.

i have a friend with a m3 and another with a new 6 series. the m3 is fast and so is the 6, but i still think that i like the bold exterior styling of the g, not to mention the navigation in a bmw may as well be in greek its so damn hard to use.

If I was close enough to the car my puke would run down into the engine compartment through that hood.
