Default Scary moment in the G

Well I was driving back from the airport after going to DC to spend some time with my family and friends and almost wrecked my car. It was raining lightly and the pavement was wet and I was driving around 65mph. I was on a gentle downhill turn when my rear started to lose traction and I started to go sideways. It happened in slow motion, fo' realz. Anyways, I let go of the throttle and steered in to the skid and all my Gran turismo skills came out to put me back on the road. Good thing no other cars were on the road. Man, this kind of thing never happened to me in the G, she handled herself well in the rain before. I think the tires are giving away. I have 22300 miles on the stock pilots. Anyways, thank god I played Gran Turismo since back in the days.

Glad you are OK man. Was the road icy or was it just wet? Also VDC didn't try to correct the skid?

Oil slick on an incline...if I had to take a guess. Nasty oil.

I did have the VDC on. The road was just wet so it might have been just the water or it could have been something else. All I know is that ther rear just lost traction somehow and I shit my pants because I wasn't expecting something like that. Anyways, thank god for GT 4.

Jedmo, when you say booties Do you mean ass? That's the only bootie I know. It seems like you're refering to something else though.

I agree, that's probably too many miles for the stock pilots. Mine were getting worn at about 12000 miles, but I do tend to drive a little harder than the average bear.

I'm trying to conserve my tires as much as I can so by the time it wears out I'll be able to buy the Volk SF Challenges.

I think the hydroplaning has forced your hand rice. Buy the new shoes (booties).
