oh, and yes i know that civil engineering courses are vastly different from that of a computer engineer's. but when it comes to the understanding of how things work, and making blueprints to deal with specific engineering issues, we have to cover the thing.

i am impressed with your knowledge of civil engineering.

oh, and thanx for turning my fun loving thread into a discussion about drianage

Houses are not in danger?

Buddy look at the pic. The freeboard of the houses is minimal and if a vehicle were to travel the roads at any rate of speed (like the SUV in the pic) a wake could easily go into the houses.

Like I said before, when you have a degree in Civil Engineering and can discuss this with any semblance of knowledge, schooling, or logic, we'll continue until then (.......never ) I'm done with this topic.

Actually Smoke you are the one who expanded ryno's pic into the entire state of Florida. I merely said that ryno had some drainage problems. You should be able to remember the points you made.

I am really out of your thread forever now.

I am really out of your thread forever now.

thank you for twisting my words around.

1) the whole state has drainage problems.

2) VERY few houses are in threat (normally the older construction homes are at risk and/or those close to the shore).

3) ryno's street is one of the VERY few streets ive ever SEEN in the entire state in which the water reaches the houses.

by the way, during a hurricane in 1999, my other home was flooded, but the problem was fixed. the house was constructed back in the 70's. my new home was built in 95. no such problems. (want any more examples?)

YES PLEASE JUST STOP COMING INTO MY THREAD

Yep, Florida is a soggy state. I had some land in the middle of the state in Kissimmee a ways back and still had to build a moat around the property and septic tanks were prone to float right out of the ground if you did not pile a mountain on top of them.

The good news is I did not have to dig very far to put in a well and for every rain drop that falls, another fire ant drowns
