My parents honeymooned at the Stanley hotel during the middle of the winter in the midst of the remodel. My mom later saw the movie and said she couldn't have stayed there if she saw the movie first.

One of the best thrillers of all time and definitely one of Kubrik's best work. I loved the shining.

Even the Simpsons parody was great.

I was really never a fan of the Shining and enjoyed bits of Planes. Planes is a very slow movie and could stand to be edited down quite a bit. I think with a recut of Planes it will be a significantly better movie.

Jay, there are several classic scenes from Planes.....

1. "Those aren't pillows!"
2. Steve Martin picking up his rental car.
3. "You're going the wrong way!".......edited......."Yeah right, how does he know where we're going."<---------this is THE scene of the movie.

Overall it's a slow movie. So renting and skipping the many slow spots is the way to go. Watching it in a theater would be tough.

i don't think it's slow at all... i think it's pretty entertaining... well maybe - it's a comedy with a story.

but GZ got it right - one of the best scenes EVER.

Quote:
he wants to race
oo don't race that's stupid...
(other car)you're going the wrong way!
he says we're going the wrong way
we're going the wrong way? how does he know where we're going?
yeah, how does he know where we're going?
(other car) you're going the wrong direction!!!

Msb, I like it when Steve Martin sees the double solid yellow lines to his right. The slow grinding of the mental gears.........priceless.
