Default Just curious...

It's gotten to the point that I dread even checking this forum anymore so I ask you...

Even though GP is also on G35 driver now, at least she comes here and BS's with us. At least she knows how to have fun!

I actually haven't had much time lately for chatting with friends and now that my mother has been bleeding to death for about three days needs surgery if I can get her in by next week...maybe see if I can get her to stay with me for a bit...

It is more like pace...it is just a bigger place with a lot more going on. You are over there Hexx, GZire has a thousand posts over there...it isn't a competition really. I check both places when I get a minute free and if something interesting gets my attention and I think I have something to add...you gotta admit though that 8K posts between the two of you these past three months makes things a bit one sided.

I mostly just lurk on G35Driver. That's why I have less than 100 posts over there. I really don't like it very much. It's way to big and there are way too many sections. I can't believe that people are complaining about what happens here on 6MT cuz G35Driver is worse! 6MT is a much more intimate site with less people. You can really get to know and become friends with people here.

^^^ I agree with that, I just don't get why practically every thread on the front page of this forum has to be totally derailed in the process.

I guess that you can call it intimate since 4 people are putting up 90+% of the posts.

It's been a long day, maybe I'm just cranky...

That's not true Rone. Right now it may just be 4 people because everyone on the East Coast is asleep. Earlier today there were a ton of people posting and interacting. The right side of the column had a bunch of different names on it. I just happened to come on when Smoke and Princess were on and we all started bullshitting. Some of us just have a lot to say. What's wrong with that. I really don't think that any of us intentionally mean to derail a thread. Look at the BCS thread. It was a college football thread that got derailed when someone brought up chicken. I don't remember who it was but it wasn't any of the "post whores." It wasn't done intentionally and before you know it, it became a couple of pages of food talk. It happens and everyone does it at one point or another not meaning to do it on purpose. We just go with the flow.

I actually quit visiting driver as much once I started coming here. Driver is full of great info, but its just gotten big enough that it seems totally impersonal.

I'm pretty sure I was a member on Driver before here. That being said, I'm going to be curtailing my posting frequency drastically pretty soon.

when I first got my G (18 mos ago) I visited driver more often, found it to be a better place for technical advice (it's where I got instructions on installing my Z tube and drilled pedals ) but once the mod bug passed, i started hanging out her exclusively. Part of it was probably getting an opportunity to meet some people at Princess's b day party. I lurk over there ocasionally, but that's about it.

I joined there a while ago because I noticed there are more local people there and those are always helpful and just recently started going into other areas.

I figure all the info I can get for my car, the better and it's nice to know of people in the area that have the same car
