I like everyone on here and share the sentiment of enjoying the more inimate feeling as we're not a huge site. I feel like I know people on here compared to driver where I do not because it's too big. That being said this sums up what what I feel in a better way than I can say it myself-

I am not going to lie and it has nothing to do with personal friendships because I happened to like hanging out with Hexx in Vegas, if I head down to FLA in the next year I would certainly want to meet up with Smoke and honeybee...but 27-30 posts almost all in the tot and almost all with very little reaction time or thought or purpose.
All that anyone is asking is that you post less bs with no real point and take the time to "make your posts count" not "make your post count".
I've been a member here for quite a while and never have, nor ever will get the post count status thing. If I have something worthwhile to contribute I will, if not I don't get the point of inserting a one liner to up my count.

jl-I can't speak for anyone else but to me the post count thing means absolutely nothing. This whole PWA/post whoring thing is just a way to mess around and have fun and interact with the friends that I have made here at 6MT. I honestly could care less about my post count or # of posts per day. Smoke, Jaylin, GZire, msb and I seemed to have hit it off really well and we have all become pretty good friends. So when we see each other on the board, there is a lot of interaction between us. The PWA thing was born from a joke. It was never meant to be a serious thing. It is just a way for some friends to bond and have something in common, besides the fact that we are all a lot alike anyways, and just have fun and BS around. I really am sorry if people are offended or put off by our interaction but it just really blows me away that it is taken so seriously. It's really not that serious. Try joining us in the interaction. You might like it and have fun . . . . . and then you can join the PWA too!

I don't think people care about your interactions so much as it's more that when people come to TOT to read, they have to weed through your interactions to find something other than your conversations.
The only example I can think of right now in my half asleep state:
You know when you are out with a group and you are trying to have a conversation and there are some people that are talking so loud that it's difficult to stay on your own topic? After a while you just have to give up because it's taking up too much of your time.
It's good that people are having fun here and meeting new people etc. But it's really difficult to be able to catch up on what's going on around here if when you log on, you read through 20 posts and more than half of them turn out to be interactions amongst a few. And I think that is what people are put off by.

That's exactly what I am talking about. I like everyone on here but it gets pretty monotonous when every thread has what appears to be the same conversation by the same people.
A post count has nothing to do with your status. Anyone who thinks that a post count makes you distinguished needs to pull their head out of their ass.
I wonder what would happen if the post count feature was taken off.
I used to love comming to this forum, but now it takes forever just to read a whole topic because of page after page of off topic chit chat. If I actually do end up reading the whole topic, it is pointless to respond to the original subject, because the conversation isn't even in the same ballpark.
If you just want a big post count then try to be creative like Gard (li.e. the mountain thread, or MOAP), or at least say something that other people might want to read....Once!

SILENCE!!
You're post-count is too lowly for your opinion to matter.

Not to mention that you have a pic of a Camaro in your sig which is an automatic deduction of 10 posts!
I couldn't vote in the poll because I've never been to G35driver.com ever. Hell, I never even heard of it before. You see, I'm a complete newbie to this forum thing. This is the first online forum for me to ever participate in. Now I have begun to lurk at other forums, but with hobbies that have nothing to do with the G35.
That said, I have found this forum useful, informative, intimate, funny, creative, and a complete and utter distraction since I am at work when I participate in this forum.
I remember when I first started viewing this forum, days after I bought my G, I would only surf the coupe and racing section. When I glanced over to the Totally of Topic section, whoa baby, there was a whole new world there, and that's what got me hooked - the subject matter: politics, sex, drugs, football, music, whatever . . . the thing that is cool about this forum is that there are a lot of knowledgeable people from very different backgrounds and within my age group. I like reading different perspectives. It's not like going to a gun forum and finding a bunch of right wingers where it's difficult to voice a different opinion and face an overwhelming political stance. Here - most of the time - your opinion is respected and noted, assuming you can backup your argument.
Does the post whoring bother me? Slightly, but not enough to deter me from coming here. It's just makes me get back to work quicker and keep my viewing time to a minimal.
