Also, stay away from some dude named GZire over at G35Driver. He is really weird . . . . and not in a funny way either!

I wouldn't say that 4 people are putting up 90% of the posts...I personally don't have a problem at all with 13 posts per day from Jaylin with some thought put into the discourse and I certainly do not have a problem with 18 from Kurt in a combination of all the forums most of the posts being completely informative. When Kurt feels like goofing he generally sends email.

I am not going to lie and it has nothing to do with personal friendships because I happened to like hanging out with Hexx in Vegas, if I head down to FLA in the next year I would certainly want to meet up with Smoke and honeybee...but 27-30 posts almost all in the tot and almost all with very little reaction time or thought or purpose.

All that anyone is asking is that you post less bs with no real point and take the time to "make your posts count" not "make your post count".

This is a perfect example of the problem. If you bring up the subject and try to rectify the problem by asking nicely, the offenders get defensive and claim persecution.

I don't have a problem with people posting 100 hundred posts a day as long as it pertains to the topic. I get tired of sifting through personal discussions and chit-chat to find the relevant information in a thread. I'm not so niave that I don't realize that threads are going to go off topic from time to time. It's when every thread is taked off topic that I have a problem with.

I've been a member over at G35Driver as well as my350Z.com for the past year or so, but I don't really post that much.. mainly just look for information and cool new mods, etc.

This place is a smaller, tighter crowd... more fun on a personal interaction level.

I go to G35driver time to time and have been a member since '03 but I hardly post over there. There are a lot of smart ass fookers so I don't really bother.

I agree roneski. If I want knowlegeable, accurate info I head to other sites. But you have to admit, the TOT Forum at this site can be perfect for those times you simply need a brainless moment or two without peer pressure.

As to why it is... I think for many 'early adopters', ie., those that bot their G's some time ago when it was a newly released model, the forum boards here, at FreshAlloy and G35Driver were primarily about the search, development and sharing of G-Knowledge. The car was so new, the only place to get the kind of enthusiest info we desired was thru these types of forum resources. The primary reason people hit up the sites was for G-related info but now, after a bit of the newness bloom is gone, it looks as though more and more have simply used this place to extend and maintain the friendships developed thru our common interest. That is, when you can get a word in edgewise who simply use it a a IM chatroom.

I know I personally have no desire to continue answering the same repetetive questions for several years. I made a concerted effort to post accurate, informative info early on, only to watch years of work go up in smoke with the server change here. So I figure I've done my part in that regard and have no problem passing that torch. Unfortunately, IMO, the 'new generation' picking it up don't appear to have the same sense of urgency either for receiving or dispensing accurate info. They claim to be enthusiests, but sometimes you gotta wonder. The amount of inaccurate info I see floated here now is 10 times worse that it used to be but like you, friendships aside, I just don't care anymore if the site content deteriorates. There are plenty of alternative G35 sites and, certainly, more important things in life. It is what it is...

I'm sorry to those of you who feel like the site has gone downhill, but in my view it has gotten better...yeah there are senseless posting rampages every now and then, but most of the time it stays fairly on topic...when the topic dies we keep it alive so that all people can find it on the front page without doing a search...when people don't posts then things die, we are simply keeping it fresh and growing...

I find it interesting that 3 others have voted that the site is better than ever. I wish that they would speak up because the only people speaking up are those who think that it is worse. But smoke, J and I only have one vote so we can't be accused of voting more than once! I too go to G35Driver to get info and I post every once in a great while. But when it comes to interaction and making friends . . . . it sux.

Jay - I was referring to the non-TOT content. Pick a topic, any topic, and search here, FreshAlloy, G35Driver and My350z.com to name a few. Seems since the 6mt server change, 90% of the time you will get more accurate, in-depth info at the other sites. In that regard, this site is lacking IMO and the others are the better sites for the hard core enthusiest who cares to stick to a particular site for those purposes. That's my observation and only point because I don't think that has always been true. Regardless, not everybody prioritizes the same, which is why all the sites coexist just fine and most of us visit 'em all regularly anyways.
