Default Anyone here was at Pat's in Philly last night?

I am in Philly on business for a week, and I think I am in love with this town.. It's got such a cool vibe. Beatiful architecture, nice mix of old history and modern stuff, great food (Philly cheese steaks to die for)

Last night, I was having one at Pat's and there was a Ivory Pearl Coupe parked outside, with grilles, overlays on the side markers, Skyline badges.. I was wondering if that car belongs to anyone in here?
I did not get a chance to see the owner.

Yeah.. The area was a little on the rough side, but it did not seem all that bad..
The cheese steaks were unbelievable..
I am really enjoying Philly a lot

if you are looking for somehting to do... the new Constitution Center is pretty neat (if you like that type of thing)

but over all... i'd hang out in Olde City -- cool place. glad you like Philly -- i love it. i live in NJ but right over the bridge. literally 5 minutes.

Can you tell me some specific places to go to (bars and clubs)
I still want to do the art musuem. Where do you usually hang out?
I had lunch yesterday in this Belgian tavern right by the Independence center which was awesome.. The best Bratwurst I ever had and a selection of over 400 beers !!

rbichara -

it depends on your age... i'm young (24) so i goto Finnigan's Wake, Roosevelts, McFaddens, etc.... but thats probably mostly the younger crowd. If you're older - you'd wanna goto some nicer places in Old City. The Plow and the Star is prett cool.

restaurants... i honeslty never dine out muhc in Philly. My town now has about 6-7 very good restaurants that a lot of poeple from Philly now come to - LOL but honestly, as far as restaurants and bars go - you can't go wrong with much if you stay in Old City.

yeah, btw-- Eagles sucked today. well there was that moment in the 3rd quarter when i thought "holy shit - another huge comeback" until the interception when we almost tied it - then downhill from there...

Damn, that's messed up msb. Next time, why don't you just take a pic of you eating a Philly Cheesesteak and post it to rub it in to smoke just a little bit more!

I was there but didn't drive ... Pat's is the shit and geno's sucks

as for bars in olde city ... Plough is nice but depends on what day you go. Blue Martini is nice but a bit pricier than the other place ... there's place right next to martini ... something with degrees in its name and it's nice too. Glam is ok ... their VIP room is really good but really hard to get into (don't puke in there, they get mad ). Suede is nice but can be hard to get into later in the night. Where ever you go, make sure to end the night with a trip to Pat's

Hexx--- ooo man!! GOOD idea!!!

Ru- Geno's is WAY better, IMO
on a good day - Pat's is good - but a lot of days aren't good for them Geno's is more consistant. on many comparisons i've done, i've founf that Pat's can have better steak. but Geno's has better rolls and cheese (even tho they should be the same. Geno's tastes better overall, IMO

my record is 2 Geno's and 1 Pat's -- all in around 10 minutes. and the Pat's sucked that night. i had Pat's last to shut up my buddy that like them better. i know one of the employees at Pat's tho "Roary" is what we call him - i don't know his name tho....

rbichara-

besides what was mentioned... i also like 5 spot.

I was thinking about goin to pats last nite, I was literally 2 mins away, but decided not to since i was suppose to be eating healthy. After reading this post, i'm feenin for a steak right now. Guess it'll be steve's steak for lunch.

As far as bars, just go bar hopping in olde city. Most places don't have a cover charge.
