Good thoughts still coming. I do like the knife resources (I tend to collect some knives myself) and this might be a good marriage with the kitchen goods concept. I also understand the (probably valid) assertion that the ladies do a lot of the online buying so that might be a more target rich demographic.
I need to divorce myself from wanting my product(s) to be cool or fashionable, otherwise sexy, sporty, or upscale. Need to get my ego out of it.
Appreciate the ongoing dialog and concepts,
FFWD
At the moment my #1 need is for a power converter for my laptop and othe 110V goods
I collect fish, and there are some crazy fish breeders in Singapore. It would be nice if you could bring a few back for me.
Fish breeders - sounds like a side show or something in a dark alley.
actually I have already left Singapore and am in Malaysia now. Perhaps on another trip we could discuss the fish relocation plan
For now, I just don't want to get the bird flu
But seriously, if you give me the heads up next time on what you are allowed to import, etc. we can discuss. I have been reading nothing but regulatory signs prohibiting pretty much anything of interest.
actually this project has been on hold for the week due to my travels. Mrs. FFWD has been getting research done and things are on track for the basic structure.
I really think we will go with the Kitchen products. Plenty of wholesale resources and we can work in our respective interests. She can introduce cool towels, and 'accessory' items, I can do the "harware" stuff I like such as good knives, cutting boards and souped up pasta machines
thanks for the thoughts and ideas. It will probably be another few weeks till we are up and running, but as promised I'll shoot you the link and a discount.
This is rather exciting...I must admit you seem to have no problems in the "go for it" arena. I would have to do so many feasibility studies I am sure that I would think myself out of something like on-line retail.
By the way I never did thank you for that link you sent me last month...it looked cool but believe it or not I didn't have "the guts" to make the connection.
FF I think that is probably one of the safest yet more profitable ventures to go into...let us know how everything is moving along...I could always use new cooking utensils...
Yes, e-bay will be part of the strategy, both auctions and an ebay store, but also want to work a dedicated site.
Still trying to settle on an e-commerce provider. I got some input from here and others a few weeks ago, but not having quite the programming acumen, I am strongly favoring a Yahoo e-commerce solution.
I'm thinking about starting up an e-biz and need some input on the the general cost of starting up the website and maintaining it, and advertising and marketing the site.
