So, I has having this "discussion" with a co worker this morning about "cool people". I told him that I thought Bono was the coolest man alive....he proceeded to choke on his bagel and proclaim my idiocy for not choosing Johnny Depp!!! Now, don't get me wrong, I think Cap'n Jack's pretty cool, but no. Then, he tries to tell me Keith Richards is even cooler than Bono.....I said, yeah, maybe 25 years ago.
Anywhoo.....I thought it'd be interesting to get the opinions of my fellow G35 mates...not on Johnny vs. Bono....just who are those people whose shoes you'd love to stand in for a day to experience true cool.
I know you didn't as for commentary on Bono, but personally, I'd also put him in the "old" category. His time has come and gone IMHO. But then again, I was never a huge U2 fan, so take that for what it's worth.
I'll go to the other end of the spectrum. I think Ed Begley is cool. Not because he is hip or an amazing actor or anything, but because (from what I know) he is true to his "causes." I can care less about what celebs think about politics and crap, but good old Ed has been a huge proponent of environmental issues, and doesn't just spew it. He lives it.
Here's couple of articles, among many others you can find online about Mr. Ed:
Hugh Hefner now or 20 years ago. I'd give anything to be him for a day. But Miles Davis was the essence of Cool.
Also Joe Namath (old school Joe Namath), Julius Irving (once again, Old School), Muhammad Ali, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley (RIP) Jimi Hendrix (RIP), Johnny Cash (RIP), Hunter S. Thompson (RIP), Bill Clinton (arguable for sure). Frank Sinatra (RIP) should me mentioned as well, he's not one of my favorites, but he was cool.
what i like about snoop is his laid back style, and the way he talks/dresses. THAT's what makes him cool in my book... not so much the football organization
