To answer your question, I am in an ICAP-II squadron. ICAP-III only came into service within the last two months or so and only two squadrons will be getting them. My roommate is in one of those two squadrons. He says the new sytem is amazing.

Sounds really cool to me! I've got a bunch of questions, but I have to hit the hay so I can't elaborate too much.

Here's a few (if you don't mind, of course

):
- How do the surveillance receivers differentiate between your own radar and that of an enemy radar (different frequencies, protective barrier between the transmitter and the receiver, etc?)
- Does the HARM missle have an exploding warhead that tracks all the way to the source of the radar transmission or does it explode and release some type of interferece to block the radar signals from reaching the squadron?
- Any chance of you getting on a EA-18G when they are released (that should be cool!).
Of course, feel free to tell me if any of this is classified. It just sounds really cool. My background in analytical chemistry got me interested in sensitive detection of compounds broken down to the molecular level using electronic components and I really learned to appreciate the importance of eliminating any type of background noise or other interferences by some really cool high-tech ways.
Well, got to go to bed...fly safe!!
