Default portable mp3 players

ok ... i'm looking to get a portable mp3 player but don't really want an ipod ... I like the Ipod nano but it just doesn't seem worth the money. Any other players out there that people recommend? I'd like something that has a video play option.

The iPod Nano is worth the money if you get the 4GB. 4GB for $240 before tax vs between $75-$150 for a 1GB from other manufacturers. I love mine and have been using it alot more than I ever did my previous 2 mp3 players (Creative JukeBox 3 20gb and SanDisk 1GB).

Really wouldn't put a lot of emphasis on the video support due to the small screen sizes of the units, its a gee-whiz type feature that will be cool for a little bit but in the long run will go unused more than likely.

iPod has the new video player and you can download your favorite TV shows to it also...

Look into the Dell Digital Jukebox. I got the 20GB model and love it. It doesn't have some of the features the iPod has like the games and calendar and whatnot, but you're buying an mp3 player, not a PDA. It does have every feature you want from an mp3 player. Plus it's a LOT cheaper, and it's now just as small as a regular iPod. Not as small as a nano, but still small for the capacity.

i bought the rio carbon and love it. it does only have 5 gigs but i've yet to fill it up using .wma files. it also has a great battery life. it doesn't play video's either, which is something you asked for. a great site for technology is cnet.com look up whatever you want there n read editor reviews and then read user reviews.

this is the mp3 player i have -

they also have a 6 gig edition if you wanted more space which would be here -

i love the size of it too, easily fits into my pocket.
