Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding....you got it! This vaccine (GARDASIL) may save hundreds of thousands of people's lives per year. I'm sure that many of you know somebody who had cervical cancer (or genital warts)...this vaccine will help millions of women ever get the virus that causes cervical cancer or genital warts...huge news.
I actually may give a prize to anyone who can figure out what the word GARDASIL stands for...
I wonder how many crazy religious parents will prevent their little girls from getting it because they say it promotes sexuality and that abstinence will do the same thing as the vaccine?

Ryno, I guess that's another reason why they won't reclassify weed. Because the Govn't thinks if they do that they'll promote drug use. 1st of all people who are going to smoke are going to smoke and I really don't think that reclassifing weed will promote it. IMO weed doesn't need to be in the same catagory as cocaine, heroin, and opium. Weed just doesn't have that addicting properties as those drugs and it's not as harmful. Of course smoking anything is bad for you and weed has alot more tar than cigarettes but if you eat it in a brownie it's not as harmful.
Ok, back to the issue at hand. Isn't genital warts a virus? So are they starting figure out how to prevent viruses from being spread? Hopefully they'll have a vaccine for herpes so I won't get it on my fingers when I finger bang-bang these hoes.

Nice pick up, Ryno . Not only religious parents, but those that are in denial that their girls would be having sex before they are "mature".
To avoid this, the ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices; part of the CDC) needs to review the merit of this type of vaccine and the epidemiological impact of mandating that every middle-school aged girl be vaccinated. Ideally, it would be mandatory for all middle-school aged girls to be immunized against HPV. This is the only way to try to rid the planet of this virus.

Yes, genital warts are caused by HPV Types 6 and 8, and GARDASIL prevents people from getting these two HPV types along with Types 16 and 18, which cause 70% of all cervical cancers.
As for your hoes with herpes, you'd better keep putting condoms on your fingers to avoid spreading her herpes to your nose
So CK, you think we're heading towards a vaccine for HIV in the near future?
Yup. A lot of pharmaceutical companies and research institutions are working on a HIV vaccine. Unfortunately, vaccine development is a very long process (>10 years), especially for difficult viruses such as HIV and HPV.
so i guess we finally know which company you work for ... congrats on the achievement ... still a lil mad you didn't let us know so we could buy up some stock before

Sorry Ru. I couldn't even tell my family about it until now The results really are fantastic. The stock will probably go up today and when the actual data is presented.
