Default MIA

Alright, well let me explain myself! I've been MIA for almost 2 weeks now. Not for lack of interest... trust me! I'm in the process of moving, just moved out of my apartment, and into a "temp" place before moving into a new house (at the end of the month).

So for the next few weeks, unless I can get Comcast to give me 3 weeks of broadband access, I'll have limited posting on the boards. I'm going to give the cable company a call today to see, but does anyone have any ideas on this? The house I'm in has cable, but I'm not on the bill. Think they'll let me add broad band (I have all the hardware) for only a month without huge setup fees?

Oh, and I have a few pics of the ride! Just have to get my computer setup and dial-ed in (ahhhhh) at home to upload.

You'll probably have to pay for a full month, but if you tell them you have your own stuff and you'll be using them at your new place they shouldn't have a problem. If they do, you might let them know you WON'T be using them in the future. [lol]

At least you're dealing with Cable... DSL will take much longer to "get going" since they have to test the line and whatnot. If I'm not mistaken, your cable company simply needs to activate the line for broadband -- and if you already have your own equipment, it should be no problem... as long as your cable company is willing to do it. but like lead_said, I'm sure you'll have to pay a whole month though.

By the way, congrats on the new home!

I doubt it since for both DSL and Cable it usually requires the guy to come out and activate the lines. If they come out they will no doubt charge you to activate it and what not...
