When I saw the title of this thread, I thought you were about to unleash a horrific story on us about how you lost in a drag race against a 1960's VW Bus or something to that effect and how that event convinced you to think your car is slow.

That's actually what I thought too! My first thought was, oh no, who did msb lose to? I hope it wasn't a weak ass car like a Sonata or Spectra or something like that. But yeah, it was really slow this weekend.

i laughed my ass off when i read this because i was thinking something along the same line as i opened the thread.....however, my line of thinking was not put so eloquently.
i do have friends that have mini vans and micro buses that will spank most cars. one friend took a VW micro bus and dropped in a 911 motor.....it is pretty quick in a straight line but it is extremely scary when turning at speed.....i will not ride in it. the other friend took a chevy astro van and dropped a ls-1 corvette motor in place of the v6.....it is a blast to ride in because you pull up to a light next to a mustang gt and the look on their face as a grocery-getter/mini van smokes them is priceless.
Memphis, I guess my only question is why? Why would you do that? A 911 engine in a VW bus and a Corvette engine in an Astro van. Just my opinion but that seems like kind of a waste. Like I said, just my opinion.
valid question. the dude with the astro van is a fire fighter and needed a vehicle that could carry his gear.....also the v6 threw a rod and he was able to get a ls-1 motor as cheap as a v6 replacement. the vw micro bus with the 911 motor was another dude that is a porsche mechanic and his shop had a motor and a vw bus available. think of it as the same reason that jessie james does his monster garage vehicles.....people dream some jacked up stuff and make it into reality.

Oh okay, well that makes sense. If it was just 2 dudes that wanted to do something wacky, then I would questioning why waste the money. In this case though, I guess it makes sense, especially the fire fighter.
