Default your opinion please

look like the board need another moderator or two.not to say Chaz did a bad job.he did a great job over looking all the forum but the thing is he can't be online all the time so i think we are better off with more mods here.
what do you think?
i nominate Gzire

Things were definitely getting out of hand there, it was good to have Chaz restore a little order! Being a moderator can be a full time job on some sites, nothing I'd ever want to do!

This is nothing! You should see what it is like on G35Driver.com. Even I can't take it over there. I don't blame you for declining GZ, too much work for sure!

GZire - bite your tongue!

I say no more mods, I hate over-regulation. But then, so must Chaz, because he exibited a whole lot of patience before putting his foot down this time.

Personally, I think this community should be able to self-police more effectively. A little common courtesy and self control on the part of posters goes a long ways to ensure a friendly, enjoyable and informative public community site for everyone. But it takes two to tango. If you see something you consider to be inappropriate behaviour, speak up! Don't be afraid to voice your opinion, it's YOUR site too.

Don't want to rock the boat or hurt someone's feelings in a public forum? Fine, but please do take the time to make a polite request via PM. And, if someone has the courtesy to contact YOU privately, have the courtesy and maturity to acknowledge their concerns respectfully. Don't be a selfish little spoiled brat and tell them "go-screw-yourself-I-can-do-anything-I-want."

That's the point. NO, you can't. It ain't your private playground. Ultimately, if you want to come into our public playground you have to play by the written AND spoken rules set by the majority of members. Otherwise you will find yourself persona non grata, or worse, permanantly banned.

Not a bad idea Tinman, but I'd like to think it is not needed. Very, very rarely has anything come up that needed a moderators involvement and thats refreshing compared to A LOT of other forums out there.

Maybe if this is something we as a community wanted to look into we could post a poll and do it the democratic way??? Just an idea.

this isn't a new idea .... been brought up before and the idea just kinda died down cuz the problems usually fix themselves with just a lil time and patience

rule # 1) no fun allowed on 6mt.net

i see what you guys saying.but one more moderator wouldn't hurt.that will do nothing but good.
i know we should have fun posting because that's the reason why i'm here and i'm sure most of us feel the same way.but this is a public place.other people are on here too.there're should be rules/guidelines (btw,i can't find them) and we should follow the rules.

if the rules arent posted anywhere, how are we suppose to follow them?

it's ridiculous, we're basically judged on opinions. what if more people liked the tornado thing? just because a few people dont like it, it should be prohibited??? it's not like we were offending anyone.

Smoke- you know I got love you but the endless quotes upon quotes especially IN the thread asking to tone it down a notch was a little much and has started to wear on a few nerves. Not because it was offensive but because it made it annoying to sift through and to be quite blunt was annoying seeing it in thread after thread. Like I said before, you know I got love for ya and this isn't meant to bust on ya.

As for the rules being posted it wouldn't be a bad idea, but in the past year and a half I've been coming here I can count on one hand how many threads have been locked. Just my .02

Absolutely right, and worth repeating - so I quoted it.

"Common courtesy". We don't want any more written rules than are necessary, don't ask for them. We want people to be able to show restraint and respect that there are more than the 2-3 people responding to any given post on these boards.

Use common posting sense. Say things that are useful, post with purpose. Purpose may be conversation, but respect the original post, the original poster, and the general board population by trying to stay within some resemblence of topic and using discretion within the content of your post.
