Default For you Mountain Time Zone folks

Don't know if there are many of you on the board....but, WTF....is the whole zone boycotting daylight savings or something??? I had to come in early this am for a conference call scheduled for 8:30 Mountain Time. So I (living and working in The OC) came in at 7:15, got my coffee, booted up the PC, etc...dialed into the conference call at 7:30.....and waited.....for 10 minutes. No one else joined the call. Then I remembered that Phoenix doesn't celebrate Daylight Savings, so maybe Santa Fe doesnt either (where the meeting that I'm calling into is actually taking place).....So I did some research and, according to the US Government's own official time website (who know such a thing existed), Mountain time = Pacific time during Daylight Savings!!!!

http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Mountain/s/-7/java

What the hell is up with that????

Yeah shits weird. My folks used to live in AZ and I live in CO. CO participates in daylight savings (speaking of, when is that?) but AZ does not. For the life of me I could never remember what time it was down there when calling them. Now it's really screwy since they either have a 13 or 11 hour time difference

From what I understand (I could be wrong) the mountain time zone does participate in daylight savings but there are a few states that do not- Arizona being one of them, not quite sure of the others.

So when is daylight savings? I want my extra hour of sleep

I think it's only Arizona and Indiana that don't celebrate it but Indiana is supposed to start next year O__o

I've heard Hawaii too but not sure.

It's on October 30th this year

Lardoggy, That is correct about Arizona & Indiana, but not New Mexico. They observe daylight savings, as far as I know. Never known them not to.
