You better hope that his shoulder is okay.

He hurt it in the last game vs. Denver. That's why Phillip Rivers had to finish the game.

His shoulder was dislocated while attempting to recover a fumble. When he went down for the ball several bronco/charger players landed on him and his right arm...He went to the sidelines to get it popped in place. After an MRI it was revealed that he has a torn labrum.

Having surgery on it this week, it will be about 5 months of recovery time. He'll be fine.

I don't think The Chargers will have a chance with out brees. IMO keeping Rivers would be taking a step backward.

All we need is to address the O-line and Secondary issues and we'll be one of the biggest threats in the NFL.

ouch man

this is going to drop his value, however... this just might be the excuse the chargers need to get rid of him.

Yeah, it looked pretty crazy when he got hurt. He tried to recover the fumble and a bunch of guys fell on him and his arm got bent back in a weird position. It looked crazy!

I think SD is going to offer Brees a long term deal to keep LT, Gates, Brees together for a while. They should trade Rivers for a first rounder.

The Chargers aren't getting rid of Brees. It's long term contract time. Rivers is on the way out. For some reason I think he will be a bust.

The Rams need to hire Sherman now that he's gone from Green Bay.

I don't know fellas. I heard SD's GM say that Rivers isn't going anywhere. They've been looking for a reason to dump Brees for Rivers. They definitely won't have two QB's on the roster with huge contracts, that's for sure. One of the two will be gone soon.

I'm waiting for the axe to drop on Norv Turner. It should be today. Good riddens. Truth be told, there were a couple of games with questionable calls that went against the Raiders (e.g. the big one was vs KC on Sept 18th, Moss caught a td!) that cost him a few games, and the offensive line has been terrible, but overall, his performance has been mediocre. The players have been supportive of him, but maybe it's because he's a nice guy and cuts them slack.

He's a coordinator and nothing more, and I still wonder about that. The team had the offense with the most potential in the '05 off season and they just laid eggs against good teams. Furthermore, no wins against any AFC conference foes and you get the axe!

Incidentally, coaches that have been fired or retired so far:

Dick Vermeil, KC Chefs: good guy and a worthy leader of a worthy adversary in KC.
Mike Martz, St. Louis Rams: Gzire, any thoughts?
Mike Tice, Minn Vikings: C-yuz, please don't think you can come to the Raiders.
Dom Capers, Houston Texans: at least the new Coach will more than likely have Reggie Bush as part of the team in '06
Mike Sherman, Green Bay Packers: I know he had an injury plagued team this year, but what about the last few seasons?

I tried to tell you Norv Turner was a stiff gamma. Go back to the first couple of pages of this thread and I tried to warn you about this guy. He has built a career based on what he did in Dallas surrounded by an incredible offense led by 3 soon to be HOFers.

We had Randy Moss and a running back that got his 1,025 yards even though Lamont Jordan missed the last two games. Blame goes to Collins and the O-Line too, for sure, but there is no excuse for just putting up 7 points against the Browns at home. No excuse.

So I guess you were right.
