And what did MeSean do against the best team in the Pac 10?? Against USC MeSean completely disappeared and was shut down. He talked so much about what he was gonna do vs. SC and didn't do a damn thing. Three straight years of promises of leading Cal to a Pac 10 championship and 3 straight years of getting shut down. MeSean is a selfish player that only thinks about MeSean. Congrats.
The eagles were quiet but efficient as always. Excellent trade down. Get another first rounder for next year. Still get the guy you wanted all along as a slot wr/kick returner (good riddance Reno mahee) and laws is a certified beast. Probably late first round talent in any other draft that wasnt stocked with d tackles. I would have rather have had limas sweed as a true #1 prospect when he fell that far, or jump back up to get Devin Thomas at the top of the second but again I undestand. Reid will stockpile o lineman prospects today.
What's the deal with the eagles trading for lorenzo booker? Do we need another 5'8" scat back? Head scratcher there. Buckhalter and his toy knees should have been out of town long ago for a true bruiser to take pressure off of west brook. Ok I'm done for now
Loved what the Birds did with the first 2 rounds, but a horrible 3rd pick. Should've gotten Doucet, Morgan, or Zbikowski instead.
Loved watching Doucet play, so long as it wasn't against the Hogs. Always seems to step his game up in the critical situations.

Yup!!! I was researching it . . . it's been forever since the Raiders have drafted a RB in the first round. In Raider history, that's a big thing.
This one blog put it best about the McFadded draft:
"We have an obvious need to score touchdowns, do we not? We're averaging 1.25 offensive touchdowns per game over the past two years, which is sub-pathetic.
After all, in 14 games last year for the Vikings, rookie running back Adrian Peterson only scored as many touchdowns as our entire offense did in 2006.
I also love this argument about how we really shouldn’t have drafted an elite running back, and that we should have instead drafted a defensive lineman because…our top rivals have elite running backs.
In other words, remain scared instead of doing the scaring.
We’re stacked at running back? LaMont Jordan is essentially gone. That leaves us with Rhodes, who could barely crack our starting lineup last year; Bush, who is unproven at this point, and who couldn’t earn activation last year; and Fargas, who has scored six touchdowns for us in five seasons. Fargas has a history of getting injured, as does Bush. If you think any of our opponents was quivering at the thought of our running attack prior to drafting McFadden, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
So was re-signing Fargas a mistake? No. He'll still play. If you're looking for a money mistake at running back, look no further than last year, when we paid Jordan and Rhodes millions to not play. "
Good points. I know Lamont Jordan will be cut, he won't be playing as a Raider next season. That'll leave Rhodes, Fargas, Michael Bush and Darren McFadden. That's fine with me since Rhodes and Fargas could get hurt.
"Jackson was drafted first overall in the 1986 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, Jackson wanted to be a professional baseball player, so he rejected the Buccaneers' five-year offer. Since he did not sign with a team by the 1987 draft, the rights to him were forfeited by Tampa Bay and his name was thrown back into the draft. The Oakland Raiders selected Jackson in the 7th round with the 183rd overall pick.[4] Raiders owner Al Davis supported Jackson and his baseball career and got Jackson to sign a contract by offering him a salary that was comparable to a full-time starting running back but allowing Jackson to only play part-time until the baseball season was done.
Joining the Raiders midway through the 1987 season, Jackson rushed for 554 yards on 81 carries in just seven games."
fuck, imagine being drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 80s? They were the worst team EVER. Before the uniform transformation they were ultra terrible.
Isn't Busch still rehabbing from the knee injury that kept him out last year? Something I read recently made it sound like playing at the start of this year was doubtful.
PS, I still think trading for/signing DJ Hall was the biggest mistake by ANY team this off season.

^^^Shit man, he's had a whole year to recover. I mean once your knee, ankle, elbow, whatever joint goes out, you're always in rehab. It's never the same.
Tell me about it, I severely stretched ligaments in my right knee the summer of 94 and still have issues. Lack of rehab probably made it worse than it would have been.

^^^You too? I just sprained my ankle again this past Monday night. A few summers ago, I had a severe sprain with a chipped bone at the ankle connection. My right ankle ain't worth of shit. If I plant wrong, in any way, I'm going down. It happens so often, that I can tell when it's severe and when it's not. I got it braced and I was walking around with a cane last week, but now it's just braced.
