Give us money or I'll take the team and leave. Remember that Qualcomm came and saved the day?

Let him fucking leave! San Diego has wasted millions because of their corrupt government infrastructure and have been bullied by their sports teams to do their bidding. San Diego doesn't need another stadium, they can re-build the one they have which is FINE. What else do they want? Want to see an antiquated stadium, go to the L.A. Coliseum or Oakland, then Qualcomm will look state of the art.

Dude the Q is all tore the hell up...during the rainy games, there are leaks all over, Stadium flooding, it's pretty bad, from a distance it looks ok, but it's rotten within.

The NFL took a look at Quallcomm and said they will not bring another Super Bowl to san diego until a new stadium is built. The shitty part is the Chargers aren't asking the city for any money, they are asking for 60 acres of land so that the Chargers and a development partner can build the stadium with their OWN money, not the city of SD's money. They would clean up the spilled gasoline in the ground from the fuel farm next door, make infastructure improvements, build the stadium and some condos.

Now I want for the city to ammend the lease so other cities in San Diego County can try and get the team. So far Chula Vista and Oceanside are big contenders.

I know what the stadium is like, I was just there this past season. I'm telling you, it's really not that bad. You may not host another Superbowl, but you wanna see bad, there are plenty of other examples.

If the other municipalities participate and get the team, that's certainly doable, but I wouldn't be surprised if you end up way east off the 8 or further up north off the 15. I dunno man, I dunno. That's just bad management I guess.

yeah that's right you've been there, I forgot. The Q is not bad to the point where there are broken seats, or broken restrooms, etc but the Chargers are at the point that they need to renew the lease at that location. Quallcomm stadium will not withstand another 15-25 years as it stands now. As it is the City of SD is losing a few million dollars a month because all the maintenance. Solution? A new state or the art stadium, like Arizona is getting or like Tampa/Seattle has.

I forgot if I mentioned this but The Chargers since the begining said they'd pay for everything after partnering up with a development partner. All the city would give up is 60 acres of additional land. All the drama in the city has scared off all potential development partners.

Friday the SD mayor said he'd bring it up to the city council on May 1st to amend the current lease so the Chargers can talk to cities WITHIN San Diego county. Chula Vista is looking like a front runner and Oceanside has expressed interest as well. So around mid May we'll probably start seeing some negotiations.

Personally I'd love to see a new stadium, what fan wouldn't but I don't see a need for tax payers to pay for the construction. Much luck to them.

Now that's just stupid. I wonder how Ricky is going to pay back the Dolphins? Dude's going to be a bum. Seriously tragic.

Default Texans pass on R. Bush and sign Mario Williams!

This is a shocker:

Texans put end to intrigue by signing Mario Williams
By BARRY WILNER, AP Football Writer
April 28, 2006

NEW YORK (AP) -- All NFL drafts have lots of intrigue near the top. This year, the Houston Texans pulled off a shocker.

The Texans signed North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams on Friday night, snubbing Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush for the No. 1 overall selection in one of the most surprising moves in NFL history.

The Southern California tailback was projected as the top pick after he dominated college football last season with his dazzling moves and super speed, but has been embroiled in some controversy this week concerning who paid the rent for a home his parents lived in, and whether an agent was involved.

Houston had started negotiations with Bush and Williams, and decided to go with the sensational defensive disrupter, who has been described as a cross between Julius Peppers and Lawrence Taylor. That takes all the suspense out of the start of Saturday's draft.

But that doesn't mean all the good story lines are solved.

Will the New Orleans Saints, with expensive free agent Drew Brees solving their quarterbacking woes, take Bush? Or go for the best blocker in this -- and perhaps many -- drafts, Virginia tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson? Or even trade the pick to teams eager to grab prime quarterback prospects Matt Leinart and Vince Young?

Is Young, considered more of a long-range prospect than Leinart, really the guy the Tennessee Titans want at No. 3 over Leinart? Are the Titans split over the decision? Does the coaching staff that features offensive coordinator Norm Chow -- Leinart's mentor at USC -- prefer the Trojans QB, while owner Bud Adams, a native of Houston who moved the franchise to Nashville, wants to stick it to his former home by grabbing Young, also a Houston native?

What about Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler, whose stock soared during workouts and at the NFL combine? Has he surpassed Leinart or Young -- or both -- in the minds of some general managers?

Will six Ohio State players get chosen in the opening round, which would tie the record? How many from USC will be first-rounders, and has the Trojans' red-zone specialist, running back LenDale White, really slipped so far he won't even go in the top 32 picks?

Earlier this week, Bush said he wanted the speculation to be over.

"I can't wait to get out on the football field," Bush said. "The seasons go by so quick and it seems like waiting for the draft and the process takes forever. I want to get back to playing football; all of us do. There's no spring ball because we're all going to the draft ... we're ready to get back to some football."

Bush could have violated NCAA rules if an agent was involved in the situation with his parents' home. He's adamantly insisted there was no wrongdoing.

"I've got enough controversy going on in my life right now," Bush said, "but I'm sure it will all be worked out in a matter of weeks and that all the answers will be the right ones."

With 32 teams seeking the right answers in this weekend's draft, it's stunning how many questions are being throw around. Here's another:

Is Williams, the first defensive end to be taken No. 1 overall since Courtney Brown went to the Cleveland Browns in 2000, another Julius Peppers? He thought all along he was the best choice for the top pick.

"I have the size and the speed and the athleticism, and to find that in a defensive end is rare," he said confidently. "You just don't see it all the time. I think the last time was Julius Peppers and you know what kind of player he is.

"Everywhere I went, they said, 'We want you."'

And just about everywhere, smoke screens fill the air. It seems to be the case throughout the league, with personnel directors, coaches and scouts leery about publicly analyzing players.

Lions general manager Matt Millen acknowledged predraft talk can be misleading.

"You can tell people the truth, and everyone thinks you're lying," he said. "You can lie and everyone thinks you're telling the truth."
