That's a good example of the useless crap that makes me hate sigs.

this in deference to everyone who insists on putting a load of crap at the end of everything they say' - Dr Tom Dowling

Yes... quite entertaining. Those rims are pretty cool too, but Im not sure if they would look good on a G though. [dunno]

Reading that thread reminds me why I love this board so much though. People here know how to spell (generally speaking) and can string together a sentance that actually makes sense.

Not to mention the big ass sigs! [lol] I would be pretty annoyed if they started showing up all over this board.

And how about replying with a quote that contains all 18 of the large images again from the original post. They're nice pics but c'mon! No netiquette... sheesh!

It MAY be funny ONCE. Beyond that, it's simply more shit to download, a greater waste of bandwidth and extra pixels for me to scroll through.

I already know what you all drive. I've read it thousands of times in your posts. At this point, your sigs are merely more crap for me to wade through in order to get to actual content.

The linked person is the sort that makes me leave online communities.

I hear ya Semi! Let me guess, you were raised on usenet right? I still fire up Agent every now and then but it gets hard to wade through a lot of the crap on there and most people don't even know what usenet is these days, let alone how to find a server and post. So I've resigned myself to putting up with web forums, where every one is a bit different. I do have to say that without Opera giving me a standard set of colors and text fonts, I'd probably not spend near as much time on these boards.

As far as sigs go, a few lines ain't no big deal but some people tend to go overboard. I was reading through some computer forums the other day and these people are listing damn near every component in their computer, each on a separate line! [V]

I agree with you semi.... mostly. However, I do think it is worthwhile to put car specs in a signature because there are always new members joining the forum, and it's a nice way to let people know what you drive, or if you have mods, or whatever. It's info at a glance. Fairly useful in some cases. You might have the specs memorized because you frequent the site, but there are others who simply pass by or read a few posts here and there, and wouldn't have that info at their fingertips.

Having said that though, I'm with daring... I hate it when people go overboard with the info. No one needs 10 lines worth of mods. Just keep it simple. 1-2 lines max.

I have even seen on mods they list the type of oil filter, who cares!

Semi On, I suppose you are reffering to car signatures only, because if I am not mistaken, you had a sig that was not car related earlier this month. I do not see it now.

I think we should all add what cleaning solution we use on our cars to our sigs. []
