Went and saw this last night and I have to say it was pretty damn good (IMO). Very different feel for an "end of the world" kind of movie. Effects were amazing (didn't seem computer generated like a lot of other recent blockbusters) and there was a tremendous sense of foreboding throughout the whole movie. Gave me a WHOLE new appreciation for the danger loud mechanical sounds can bring. Plus, the whole portrayal of civilization unravelling before your eyes was frightening.
Oh yeah, perhaps the best part of all was the King Kong trailer that played before.....this thing looked incredible, especially considering it's not coming out until December!
