you gave me a link to Panasonics website. you think it will say they are bad?? F awards. F Consumer Reports - they don't know anything. it's all about the $$ and who pays the most - for who gets the best reviews.
GO LOOK AT THE SETS WITH YOUR OWN EYES.
second. the second link. is a 37" plasma. anyone that buys a 37" plasma is a fool --- you can buy a 37" lcd direct view that is WAY better than any plasma.

and what do you mean plasma one of the worst displays out there??? are you forgetting about lcd, back projection and projector systems, those do not come close to plasma

sorry to "call you out" but you obviously do not know much about video displays.
and i need to apologize already for having an attitude -- but i hate to see when marketing has gotten to someone so badly.
i'm not sure what you meant by "back projection" i am assuming "rear projection" (consumer type box projection set)
or "front projection" (like what is in a movie theater)
either way - both displays are eons above plasma. plasma cannot come close to reaching the black levels of a CRT (direct or projection)
a GOOD CRT front projection is one of the best pictures you will see. bar none.
there are many good rear projection models out there ( higher end Hitachi, Toshiba, Mits, Pioneer Elite - which is really Hitachi) that will blow the doors off any plasma - in almost every way shape and form.
(picture quality wise)
but,
LCD is definately well worth looking at. LCD direct view, at least. LCD projection still has a ways to go. a good LCD set is brighter and sharper than a CRT. but... lacks the black levels (but is improving) and also lacks the "softness" and "lifelike picture" of a good CRT.
CE marketing is trying to phase out CRTs because of profit margins, cost to manf, etc. but still make some great sets b/c of demands of certain customers. i recommend that you do some more research - and be careful what advice you take from where. (especially stores)
now don't get me wrong... eventually fixed pixel displays will surpass CRT - but that time is not here. and it WILL NOT be plasma.
