haha, looked like fun till the end. haven't seen anybody get carried that far unless they were in gusty weather.

i've read a few stories where some kid has gone out before a storm when it's gusty and they get carried out into traffic. usually doesn't end up too good.

I've never seen anyone catch major air like that. Used to see the boards wash up near our project site on Maui all the time 'though.

you see a lot of kite borders around there? it's only recently that i've seen them here. actually grown to be a pretty big crowd since a new store opened up here.

Maui is the sailboard capital of Hawaii. It blows all the time and usually on or cross-shore which means they don't end up on anther island.

Kite boarding has a section in Kahului upwind of the treatment plant and Kahului Harbor.

I don't work there anymore and don't cruise the beaches too much, but I assume it's grown a lot since I saw these guys when I was there in '01.

yea, i bet it has grown tremendously since then. i never saw anybody here until the end of last year, which is about the time i got into it.

we have a barrier island with lots of bay waters, so pretty much as long as the wind is blowing, you can go out in either the bay or gulf.
