Default The new Mitsu Eclipse

http://www.mitsubishicars.com/06eclipse/
I really like this car. The interior kicks ass and so does the exterior styling. I might just trade in my G for this car..... ok maybe not but still I really like this car. The GT comes with 263 HP and a 3.8. Cool.

Aesthetically I agree entirely...but for 30K donation to Mitusbishi you ought to be getting the Evo. FWD, no turbo...

I'll still let you drive me around it, Riceslut...

It looks too much like the newest generation Mercury Cougar(from the side, in particular).

It's also a pig in terms of weight. The 06 Eclipse GT weighs upwards of 3550 lb's curb weight. That's 100-125 pounds more than most G35's weigh, and our cars are considered somewhat heavy.

I heard Mitusbishi is having some big-time financial problems and owners with warrantees may experience problems getting their car fixed.

OK fine, I like the looks, that's about it. I didn't really read anything else about it, just the summary. Oh well I guess I'll just stick to the good ole' G.

I agree with LC, if you're gonna go Mitsu, do the Evo...it's a bad ass car. As for myself, the one car that I could possible turn the G in for would be the new Shelby Mustang....I know.....blasphemy to a lot of people here but it is SOOO sweet (IMHO).

By the way, I took a test drive in the Mini S before buying the G and, I gotta say, I don't think I've ever had as fun a drive as I did in that car (the sales person was a SCCA driving instructor and really showed me what that little car is capable of!)

I took a peek for you at lunch, Rice. The cup placement is right behind your stick. Bad news...go no further. But if you do...a friend of mine saw it at the Mitsubishi plant...said the 8 inch Rockford Fosgate was less than impressive. I say nothing about that because don't get me started on this Bose system. I love the look of the backside but not so sure about the front...I am guessing that is why they picked the back view

You know, pretty soon here half of the cars on the road will have 250+ HP! Freeways are already hazardous enough!

The ones that really worry me are the ones in minivans and the monster SUVs. There is something wrong about giving people driving those vehicles too much hp. Low end torque fine, but not high end performance, it's just asking for trouble. Plus the dorks in the big SUVs usually throw on monster chrome wheels and done upgrade the brakes. My only hope is that the ride is jacked up enough that when they don't stop in time, the have enough ground clearance to get over the top of my car.
