For example, I always find that assholes in newer Jeep Cherokee's act like they are actually driving a Porsche 911.
Sure, the V8 models might have 300 Lb's of torque... but they only have about 230 HP, and they are lugging almost 4000 pounds of curb weight along with them.
I don't even bother with these type of drivers when they pull up next to me at a light and try to strut their stuff.

What I meant is I drove over at lunch (past that blue lotus that will someday possibly have to be closer to me than street view) to see GEN 4 in person...I like it better than older model but I jumped in for a second and tried to see if all had the 8 inch sub friend mentioned and there was no trunk release. I figured if I went for a set of keys slut puppy would have started himself and left me there...
Every now and again a mini van will pass me doing 90 or something... they cannot manuever at 90 or something...you do not want to be anywhere near them when they find out...dead family is not pretty.
Why you need a 4.5L turbo V8 sport ute that can 0-60 in 5.2 I dunno.
The same reason you would need it in a car.... because it's fun.

This is what concerns me so much about manufacturers now. The hp/torque is going up, the center of gravity is increasing in height, the driver skills aren't any better, the vehicle mass is increasing, the brakes probably aren't being oversized towards safety, and a lot of times the user throws these huge oversized chrome wheels and tires on. The recipe for a huge disaster is there.

but to be honest... whether or not its going to 60 in 5 seconds or 7 seconds... an asshole driver is gonna drive like an asshole driver.
but yeah... i can only imagine the 17 yr old kid taking that out for the night - seeing the power it has - then flipping it over... bad stuff.
but its still unfair how fast that thing is in a straight line. it's a goddamn Jeep for Christs' sake!!
I went through the same soul searching when the Typhoons and Lightnings showed up. The American companies were making stuff like this over a decade ago. Same thing different manufacturer.

I really like this car. The interior kicks ass and so does the exterior styling. I might just trade in my G for this car..... ok maybe not but still I really like this car. The GT comes with 263 HP and a 3.8. Cool.
Don't do it dude - for the price you're gonna pay on that car to add all the upgrades to it, you'll be hatin' yourself in 4 years when you go to trade it in or sell it, and the car isn't worth anything....
I have had 2 previous Eclipse's prior to my G, a '97 Eclipse GS-T (which I still miss to this day, it was so much fun to drive and I really liked the styling on it with the big spoiler on the back, etc.) and a '01 Eclipse GS (which I dreaded purchasing but didn't have a choice since I was WAY OVER the mileage on the previous Eclipse and it was leased and I had to turn the car in....)
The '01 Eclipse GS had no personality, IMO shitty styling, lacked the turbo, and was plainly put, very boring to drive....Mitsubishi and Chrysler are in bed together, and my understanding is that Chrysler has one of the worst depreciation values of ALL car manufacturers (save maybe Hondai or Kia...)
Personally, I am not too keen on the styling, sorta hard to tell if the car is coming or going...I do like the fact that they are attempting to move back to the 2nd gen styling "92-'99? But, alas, still no turbo in it.
Just for kicks, I also configured a maxed out Evo MR Edition and it came out to approximately $37k. $37k??? Are you kidding me? And I hear that folks purchasing Evos are having issues with getting them warrantied - there was an article about it in Car & Driver a few months back. Mitsubishi was using any resources necessary (even going online to find race numbers posted against the driver or their VIN number) to avoid having to do any warranty work on the engines, etc, especially if they had any hint that the car had been raced or off-roaded.

That is what friends are for...keeping good ole Rice out of car trouble...
If not for this forum I would have been the first person to hyperventilate to her death during buying process and I never would have made it into my dream car. I was so worked up though I did think that dholly was a lesbian with the first name Holly.
