Yes to wet sand - if the sand is a fine poweder, it's great (save for the salt on your car). The water makes the sand SO incredibly smooth, but much like packed powder on a ski slope, once you go over it once, it's never the same
Grrr...tried to respond once to this but I lost my server connection...so:
I wanted to clear the air on the boss' boss' boss' question that came up earlier. My boss' boss is the CFO for one of the largest fast food companies in the country....she makes a pretty good living. And (LC can probably appreciate this) I believe she's either the only, or one of two women in America to be the registered owner of an Astin Martin DB7. My boss drives a 2004 Corvette Convertible, I drive a g35SC....seems like a nice career path for me!
Actually I knew what you meant. I lived in OC for close to 15 years. It is a beautiful place if it weren't for most of the people. (Califonians are the most narcissistic group of people on the planet. The most "ME" motivated people I've ever met.)
But everyone should be a patriot. This country is FAR from perfect, there's no country better.
I said county...as in Orange County...I wasn't gettin' patriotic...though I suppose I should support our troups now that I have met one.
That's funny, I had assumed he'd misread your note since he's made his disdain for Southern California well known in another thread!
Okay, let me set the record straight:
Southern California in general: don't reall like it, mostly because of the people (present comapany excluded of course).
Orange county: One of the most beautiful places in the world to live. My parents still live there so I go back frequently.
Moved to so-cal for 4 months...I loved it...was afraid to go there because I thought it would nothing but "face" time. People surprised me there. Funny though I went to work one day and people were moping about...I said "what is the crime?"...they said we always get this way when it rains. I had just spent half hour driving to work and saw no rain...walked outside and the air was a bit "misty". I started laughing at their idea of rain and haven't stopped laughing about that for five years now!
Navy....thanks for the clarification..I recall a previous comment about the Lakers and their place in the seventh level of Hell and just jumped the conclusion that you felt that way about the entire area. But I now see you're forever tied to the area (looks like you were maybe even an Anteater at one time!)
LC, that must have been in June, a time of year in which we live in a constant state of "June Gloom" given the absense of sunlight which seems to last the entire month! As I look out my office window now, I see overcast skies and not a lot of the typical So Cal weather you all hear aobut. Rest of the year is pretty fabulous!
