Default The Contender

Did any of you watch "The Contender"? That was a great series and it finished with an incredible fight. You don't really think about fighters being real people, but it was nice to see into their lives and how important the experience was for them. Great show!

Caught the last 15 minutes of the program, quiet an upset.

Watched one or two of them and never really got into it that much.

I only caught the in ring action of several programs.

I don't like the show. The action is severly cut and heavily edited. It's so messed up in that the producers steer you in certain directions.

Show sucks, if they're good enough to make it they don't need this show.

My thoughts exactly.

I bet you that any of these "contenders" would get their asses handed to them severely if they fought against real pro's.

I think the main appeal of this show is that it gives people more of a behind-the-scenes look into the life of a boxer and the training required to get there. Being able to kick ass is something that everyone would love to be able to do if the need should present itself... it's only natural that we'd be drawn to this type of show.

I liked the show but thought The Ulimate Fighter was better. More blood, uncut fight sequences and a better variety of fighting styles. I always looked at grappling as wrestling but after watching a couple of good fights became quite intrigued with it.

The Forest/Bonner match was unreal. Not the most slick of fighters (at this point), but those guys gave everything they had. A truly exiciting fight from start to finish.

Hell ya, that was a brawl and a half. Did you see Bonner take out the dude in his previous fight? Dude did it with an upside down arm bar with 1 second remaining before the end of the round.
