So early next month my squadron is going to Iwakuni Japan for a few months. I'm pretty excited about it. Just as long as they let me come home in August for my brother's wedding. But the bottom line is more good sushi, sake, and sightseeing....and flying and all of that stuff too.

damn ... mabe you should just sell the G and just invest in a private jet ... the way you travel it looks like you'll get more use out of it than the G. Have fun or good luck or whatever the normal greeting is for someone going away for that. Watch out for kancho

edit: I like how your I'm finally back (again) post and your leaving for japan post are only a day apart ... I like to travel but I think that would kill me if that were my lifestyle

I'll put it this way: I have been in my current squadron since OCT of '03 and I have spent FAR more nights in hotel/boat/base housing beds than I have my own. The longest I have been at home in one continuous stretch in that time has been about 3 weeks. Otherwise it has been one det' after another. It definitely takes a toll (especially in terms of trying to have a relationship which is not even a consideration at this point) but it's also once-in-a-lifetime experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything.
