I saw the Italian Job the other night, fantastic movie. I loved the Mini's and the awesome sound of the blowers on them (I miss mine). The problem with movies such as this, is you have to contain your pent up adrenaline energy afterwards.
I went and got the car while the woman went to the bathroom. First off I was not driving the civic that night, which is good and bad. I love the civic, but FWD just isn't doing it for me anymore. So there I am climbing into my dad's new S-Type Jag, V8 with sport package (auto), and the first thing I do is turn of the traction control and hit the convenient "Sport" button.
Before you get all accusing I would like to tell you that I am an experienced driver, and not just some punk kid. I know how to control a vehicle, and although may scare the shit out of my friends have never cause or been involved in an accident that had to do anything with my aggressive driving (more about that later).
There is a slight wetness to the parking lot as the other entire movie going patrons exit and I wait for my young lady friend to find her way to the car. I am very poor at containing my need to play around after seeing such a film, and so I provided to do a sideways exit from the front of the movie theatre tires spinning and car in my complete control.
Like I said before, I enjoy FWD cars, but you just cannot have that type of fun with that type of throttle control. Damn I want my G35!!!
*ASIDE*
For those concerned about my accident history; all four of my accidents have been at speeds lover than 25mph. The first two were my own stupidity and inexperience. The second two were unfortunate for me and placed me as the victim due to someone else’s carelessness or inexperience. Needless to say I have come to respect the power and understand the limitations of the vehicles I drive.
