Default Bedroom Golf

The Rules of Bedroom Golf:

Each player shall furnish his own equipment for play, normally one club and two balls.

Play on course must be approved by the owner of the hole.

Unlike outdoor golf, the object is to get the club in the hole and keep the balls out.

For most effective play, the club should have a firm shaft. Course owners are permitted to check shaft stiffness before play begins.

Course owners reserve the right to restrict club length to avoid damage to the hole.

Object of the game is to take as many strokes as necessary until the owner is satisfied play is complete. Failure to do so may result in being denied permission to play again.

It is considered bad form to begin playing the hole immediately upon arrival. Experienced players will normally take time to admire the entire course, paying special attention to well formed mounds and bunkers.

Players are cautioned not to mention other courses they have played or are currently playing to the owner of the course being played. Upset owners have been known to damage a players equipment for this reason.

Players are encouraged to have proper rain gear, just in case.

Players should not assume that the course is in shape to play at all times. Players may be embarrassed if they find the course temporarily under repair. Players are advised to be extremely tactful in this situation. More advanced players will find alternate means of play when this is the case.

Players should assume their match has been properly scheduled particularly when playing a new course for the 1st time. Previous players have been known to become irate if they discover someone else is playing what they considered a private course.

The owner of the course is responsible for the pruning of any bushes, which may reduce the visibility of the hole.

Players are strongly advised to get the owners permission before attempting to play the backside.

Slow play is encouraged, however, players should be prepared to proceed at a quicker pace at the owners request.

It is considered an outstanding performance, time permitting, to play the same hole several times in one match.

Team play may be permitted depending on the complexity of the course and depth of the hole. It is generally recommended that the team captain seek permission of the course owner before signing up any perspective team members.

It is the responsibility of the owner of the course to remove any refuse left behind on the premises from previous players before allowing a second player or team of following players to play the same hole in the event of several tightly schedule matches.

Although the signature of a waiver is generally not required prior to engaging in course play, it is generally assumed that the course presents no unexpected health hazards to any participants and that all participants are of sufficient physical conditioning to withstand the rigors of intense course play.

Co-ed team matches are often encouraged by more experienced players and generally draw large crowds, particularly in collegiate matches.

It is left to the discretion of the course owner to regulate and inspect any equipment players intend to use while playing the course. Players attempting to play with damaged or inadequate equipment may be banned from the course for life.

Performance enhancing drugs are generally frowned on by most course owners and the entire golfing community, although they may be permitted in situations where a player is under contract.

It is common courtesy for experienced players to proceed cautiously when attempting to play a newly opened course for the first time.

Players not good enough to be invited on tour may sign up to play on public courses for a nominal fee.

Depending upon the quality of the course, some players may prefer to engage in course play only after dark.

Alcohol is not prohibited on the course, but is often consumed in large quantities by many players prior to course play.

The world's elite players are often able to play multiple different courses in the same day while maintaining a high level of achievement on each course.... some are even able to play several courses at the same time.

Players are encouraged to engage in international matches if the opportunity should present itself. Despite the language boundary, the game is generally played by the same rules in most countries.

It is considered extremely inpolite to leave a course immediately after play has finished without acknowledging with the course owner.

Although players are encouraged to play with enthusiasm, noise limitations may be enforced during certain hours, depending upon a courses location.

Urination on the course is strictly prohibited except in designated matches.

Tresspassing on a golf course is highly illegal. Trespassers may be shot if caught in the act and are subject to imprisonment.

Players are allowed to work on their game and become familiar with their clubs while not at a course through solo practice, but should refrain from entertaining the media or course owners with details of practice sessions.

All pets are prohibited from the course unless otherwise specified by the course owner.
