No status yet. So far I've been contacted by two scammers and one serious guy. He's going to let me know later in the week. I figure I can probably win him over if he looks at the car, because it's definitely cleaner than most 2-year-old cars. It also has a new transmission and brakes, which should be a plus.

1) The scammer contacts me, saying that they have a client in another country who wants to buy my car
2) We work out details and price
3) They send me an international certified check, I deposit it, awesome
4) They send an agent to pick up the car
5) A few days later, my bank calls back and says the check did not actually have sufficient funds and they pull the money. I have no money and no car.
A popular variation is that they give me a check for (say) $5000 over my sale price and ask me to pay them, saying that the client wants to write one check. Now they get my cash and my car!
I just got another one today; I'm playing along, trying to act like a good patsy. My plan is to tell them that I have a lien on the car for an unpaid ticket, and if they send me $500 early, I'll knock it off the final price of the car. If they do so and carry it out to the end, I'll sit on the car for about 10 days after depositing their money order, then check with the bank to make sure everything cleared okay. If their check bounces, I win $500 and there's nothing they can do about it!

A new transmission is not necessarily a good thing to see on a perspective used vehicle purchase.
Generally a replaced tranny is indicative to a buyer that the previous owner may have regularly driven the car harshly or neglected the suggested maintenance precautions. It can also be a sign of excessive drivetrain wear resulting from some other part of the car that is out of whack and putting excessive force on the drive mechanisms(An accident that resulted in a bent frame, etc).
If the buyer really knows his stuff, he'll also realize that non-matching VIN numbers on a transmission/engine/frame generally lowers the resale value of a car if anyone is alert enough to pick up that detail(doubtful).
If you choose to provide the perspective buyers with the information about the replaced transmission, you might want to clarify to him/her that it was done due to a factory defect and under warranty.

Fuck carfax. They are worthless. Didn't pick up a salvaged title when I used it in the past. Call the manufacturers warranty department for the most accurate info.
