Default Sick Sounding Bimmer

So here's my friends bmw. Probably the nicest 330ci i've ever seen.
He just got fallopian tubes. Whatever those are...
anyways, just thought i'd share.

i don't think it sounds horrible but just really out of place. I've seen/heard some very highly tuned inline6 engines and there's a unique generator-ish sound that i've come to associate with them.

Sounds OK under load, but it really sounds like there is something wrong with his timing at idle.

Like the throttle sound, don't like the idle sound.

I don't like the sound. Anything that's not a V-8 and has an untuned, completely free flowing exhaust(Catless/straight piped, etc)... sounds bad in my opinion.

For a common production 6 cylinder, I like the way 3000GT's and mid 90's turbo Supras sound. The G Coupe/Z sounds good as well.

Yeah not my personal taste with the exhaust, but the car looks nice.

ok, well he had a lot of work done to it. complete NA tune.

-new ported and polished cyl head
-new cams
-bigger injectors
-headers w/ no cats
-catback exhuast
-ported throttle body
-ecu remap

so that explains the sound

and he's about to go FI, again.
