Default Racing a VW Bug Turbo

So today as I'm coming back from Best Buy I pass a bug in the left lane - didn't even look at him, no big deal. Now the road closes down to one lane about 1/4 mile ahead and I'm just crusing... next thing I hear some buzzy thing coming towards me and it's the guy in the bug - he zips up in front of me and cuts in just before the lanes merge.

Ok.

Up ahead is a stop light and I need to turn left, aparently so does he. We turn and once he clears the corner I hear him gun it, I had already shifted to 2nd but I laid into it and soon I'm right on him. Now we're still stuck with a single lane so I can't pass him but I'm right up on his ass and I can tell he's WOT just from the exhaust fumes. So I just stick behind him somewhere between 3/4 and WOT throttle. By the time I hit 4th we were moving pretty good but he still can't pull away so I start honking and flashing my brights at him to say "Get on the gas or get out of the way!" []

We get up to the next stoplight and I pull up behind him and ask myself - why would someone try to race a G35 in a bug? Then it dawns on me... I see the Turbo S badge on the back of the car. (I just checked the Turbo S bug is 100hp and 97 lb/ft down on the G)

When the light turned green he just took off normally, but I was hoping he'd go again so I could use 1st gear rather than starting the race in 2nd gear like the last time. Not like I could pass him, but at least I could be RIGHT on his ass and even less on the throttle and maybe I coulda started honkin' again!

Anyway, not really a "kill" but I just thought it was funny.

-Chuck

A guy driving a bug even if it is turbo is like saying 'I bend over and grab my ankles so my boyfriend can give me pleasure'. Nuff said, no repect for the bug whatsoever!
